Ronin Hawkeye makes his Marvel’s Avengers debut

Marvel’s Avengers has added yet another MCU-inspired outfit to its marketplace collection. Fans of the multiplayer superhero RPG can now dress up as Ronin Hawkeye, as seen in Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame. It’s fair to say that this has been one of the most requested costumes among the game’s community since Hawkeye became a playable character last year.

Crystal Dynamics has done a great job recreating the sharpshooter’s iconic look in-game. It’s quite fitting, considering that Hawkeye is much more of a melee/ranged hybrid fighter in Marvel’s Avengers, whereas in past movies he’s typically taken pot shots at villains from afar. There’s definitely a renewed interest in the hero since he and Kate Bishop starred in their own Disney+ television series.

The only downside? Ronin Hawkeye is a premium outfit that almost costs as much as the full game itself (and considerably more than a month of Xbox Game Pass, where Avengers is currently featured).

Marvel’s Avengers characters we want to see in-game

What’s next for Marvel’s Avengers? Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have said nothing on who they intend to add as the next playable hero. It’s fair to say that, while he had some neat tricks, Spider-Man’s arrival didn’t go down well with fans. On one hand, PlayStation gamers were disappointed by the lack of a new mini-campaign for the webslinger. Meanwhile, those playing on other systems were still miffed at Spider-Man’s PlayStation exclusivity.

Rumours suggest that the developer will be looking beyond the conventional cast of superheroes for its next featured hero. A now-deleted tweet from voice actress, Krizia Bajos, seemingly confirms that She-Hulk will join the game’s roster. Other strong contenders include Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch, tying in nicely with the next big MCU arc when Multiverse of Madness hits cinema screens later this year.

In 2021, Square Enix president, Yosuke Matsuda, called Marvel’s Avengers a disappointment. It’s no secret that the game hasn’t taken off in the way the publisher had expected, developer Crystal Dynamics being more adept at making tight single player experiences rather than live service games.
