Rudy Gobert Traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves

The Utah Jazz have traded center Rudy Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. In return the Jazz will receive four first-round picks and Walker Kessler.

Gobert, 30, has played nine NBA seasons for the Jazz. He is a three-time All-Star and three-time Defensive Player of the Year. For his career, he averages 12.4 points, 11.7 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game.

With the Timberwolves, Gobert will help protect the rim and rebound. His presence will likely move Karl-Anthony Towns out of the center spot to power forward.

The move implies that the Jazz are looking to rebuild. They are getting four first-round picks and a rookie in Kessler. Kessler can help fill the void by Gobert as a shot-blocker but will need to prove himself.
