The match between Rwanda vs Mali in the World Cup 2022 Qualifying group will take place this Thursday 11th November at Stade Régional de Nyamirambo in Kigali with Mali looking to maintain their position.
Mali are the group E leaders and have collected 10 points in the run have not yet been on a defeat. Mali had an opening match against Rwanda in which they managed a victory before the goalless draw with Uganda.
Mali have then recorded two back to back victories against Kenya in the first round the match ending in a 5-0, hat trick from Ibrahima Kone and other goals from Adama Traore and Moussa Doumbia. Then on the reverse match Kenya were left one goal down goal from Kone.
Mali will be looking to extend the difference with Uganda two points behind them and each group produces only one team to proceed to the next level. Mali will then have to meet in the final match day with the second placed cranes.
Rwanda on the other hand have had the poorest performance in the run with only one point managed in the four group matches and have no hopes to proceed to the next stage. They began their run in the group level with the match against Mali and were taken down in this opener fixture.
Rwanda managed to hold the Harambee stars to a 1-1 draw in the second round but could not build on that bounce back and have then lost in their previous matches against Uganda and this puts the qualification point as a run for next time.
Rwanda will come to this match with the need to record their only victory so far before heading to the weekend’s fixture against the Harambee stars.
