San Francisco 49ers Agree to Extension With Deebo Samuel

The San Francisco 49ers and star wide receiver Deebo Samuel have agreed to a three-year, $73.5 million contract extension according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Samuel, 26, was holding out for a new contract and now has it. There were reported complications about how Samuel was used in the offense, but a new deal has happened. He gets $58 million guaranteed.

In his three years of professional football, Samuel has 167 receptions for 2,598 yards and 10 touchdowns. The 49ers also use him in the running game, where he has produced 550 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns.

Just last week, the 49ers mentioned that they would be moving on to Trey Lance officially after making the playoffs with Jimmy Garoppolo under center last season. The presence of Samuel should make the transition of quarterbacks easier.
