Satisfactory Update 6 Now Live On Early Access, Adds New Ammo Types, New Bombs, Boom Box

Coffee Stain’s first-person factory and automation builder game Satisfactory has released Update 6 to the Early Access branch today.

The update has been available since late June in the Experimental branch, but now the update is accessible by everyone, albeit with some new content and some features from Experimental not added to Early Access yet.

Update 6 is all about enhancing the exploration features and how you interact with the world, and this sees an overhaul of two biomes (Spire Coast and Swamp), improved sky and the addition of rain, and an overhaul of the local fauna. They now have more animations now with a new AI too. No more seeing hogs just circling around you before charging straight, something that remained unchanged from the first days of Early Access until this update.

The map and Radar Tower also get a change as well. The map is available earlier (by completing Tier 1 rather than deep in the MAM tech tree) and you can place markers from the map instead of having to physically put down beacons.

Ammo for weapons has been overhauled to have different types now, including different types for the Nobelisk grenades (which now include the non-violent Pulse and the ultra-violent mini-nuke variants). A new resource has been added and how you unlock ammo in the MAM tech tree is changed, so you’ll need to start some new assembly lines for these.

And finally, Update 6 also adds a Boom Box, because why not? The boom box can be carried around and play music, including the cursed soundtrack from Coffee Stain’s other game Goat Simulator. You can insert different tapes to play different music, some sold in the AWESOME Shop, some can be found in the world. There’s also a Turbo Bass features that live up to the Boom in Boom Box- a sonic blast that pushes creatures away or explodes the flying bugs.

Full patch notes can be found here.

Update 6 is now live in Satisfactory. Satisfactory is currently available on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) as an Early Access title.
