Satisfactory Update 7 Adds A Little Bit Of Everything

Coffee Stain’s goat-free first-person factory builder Satisfactory gets another major update, now live on the Early Access build.

Update 7 adds a little bit of everything. From game modes to a handy blueprint designer.

Blueprint Designer lets you save a template of anything that’s built within it ( 4×4 Foundations area, 8 Walls high). You can then use the template to save time on building the same layout over and over with the peace of mind that the build is consistent.

Satisfactory has added some gameplay adjustments to let you play your way. By default, alien creatures (some may be giant enemy spiders, or the still-terrifying cat JPEGs if arachnophobia mode is on) attack on sight. You can now adjust the creature hostility to be Passive (won’t attack at all) or Retaliate (only fights back if you hit them first). This setting is found under Advanced Gameplay Settings. More customisation on game modes is in the works.

Overclocking has been readjusted as well. The formula of how it works used to fully exponential, so the best practice for a long while is to underclock machines to save energy with only a slight tradeoff in efficiency. The readjustment makes overclocking less expensive, and underclocking less cheap, but the formula remains the same.

Other new additions include:

  • Conveyor ceiling attachment
  • Conveyor and pipes can switch between floor, wall and ceiling attachments contextually, based on where player is aiming
  • New Alien DNA Capsules. Can be sunk into the Awesome Sink
  • Sprinting on ziplines
  • Tamed Lizard Doggos can be renamed

Full patch notes can be found here.

Previously, Satisfactory revamped the game’s exploration aspects, including adding ammo types for guns.

Satisfactory is still in Early Access, available on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
