See More of Ghostwire: Tokyo With Today’s Streaming Presentation

If you’re dying (see what we did there) to get your hands on Ghostwire: Tokyo, today’s streaming presentation should make the wait a little less painful.

This ghostbusting action-adventure was revealed during E3 2019 but then things went a little quiet. No official release date was announced but, mid-2021, developers Tango Gameworks stated they’d delayed the release until 2022. It’s now set for a March 2022 and, to whet your appetite for the game, publishers Bethesda will be streaming a new look at it later today.

Ghostwire: Tokyo sees you exploring – no prizes for guessing – Tokyo. The catch is that most of the living have disappeared and the city is now home to all manner of spectres that your protagonist, with their psychic abilities, must dispatch. We’ve seen glimpses of Ghostwire: Tokyo’s in action, but Bethesda have promised to show off some all-new gameplay.

On top of that, Bethesda’s presentation will go behind the scenes, offering some insight into the game’s development. We expect to hear how they’ve mined Japanese lore, both contemporary and historical, to create your spectral foes. Yes, you can expect a long-haired lady or two, but we have high hopes that Tango and Bethesda will go all out with Ghostwire: Tokyo.

Certainly, we had nothing but praise for Tango’s last title, The Evil Within 2, awarding it a phenomenal 10 out of 10. Ghostwire: Tokyo will be released on the PC and will, for one year, be a PlayStation 5 console exclusive. Yes, Microsoft now own Bethesda but the exclusivity deal would have been worked out prior to that purchase.

The presentation takes place today, Thursday February 3rd, at 2:00 PM PT, 5:00PM ET, 11:00 PM CEST, 7:00 AM JT and 10:00 PM GMT. You can watch it here on YouTube and it should also be broadcast on the PlayStation Twitch channel.
