Seoul Dynasty New Merch

The Seoul Dynasty, the newly minted Kickoff Clash champions of the APAC region, dropped new merch for the fans on June 20th KST. It was an exciting announcement because the Seoul Dynasty is not a team that is known for many merch drops. There were four new items that appeared in this drop ranging from apparel to accessories. Here is a look at the new merch drop that just happened.

T-Shirt

The Tiger Nation fandom has not been the happiest when it comes to the Overwatch League-designed merch. So when the Seoul Dynasty dropped the classic white t-shirt with a simple logo fans rejoiced. The back design is also simple with a small logo and the team name accompanied by two gold Xs that have been a motif throughout the team’s branding this year. The t-shirt is 35,000 won or 28.66 USD. The sizes go all the way up to 3XL for fans to pick from.

Cap

The baseball cap is a one size fits all. The black cap has the logo on the sides with Dynasty on the front all in white. Seoul has had dad caps in the past off of the Overwatch League branded merch. The cap is 20,000 won which equates to 15.42 USD.

Cheering Banner

This was one of the most exciting items in the merch drop. In Korea, it is normal for fans to have cheering banners. These for the Seoul Dynasty have previously only been fan made for the players. This is the first time for the organization to make official cheering banners. It is made from suede. The banner measures at 20cm by 60cm as it is one size. It is only 10,000 won which is 8.19 USD.

Pop Socket

Past Pop Socket from Gen.G

The Seoul Dynasty has in the past had a pop socket. That past product was produced by Gen.G. This pop socket is acrylic. The size is 5.3cm by 5.5 cm. It is a simple design following in the footsteps of the t-shirt.  This is 15,000 won, which translates to 12.28 USD.

International Fan Problems

Unfortunately, these items are only available in the Korean Gen.G store. That means international fans have two ways of getting the merch. The first way is up to chance. The Gen.G discord is doing a giveaway for international fans. Simply by reacting to the post, one can be entered into getting the merch sent to them from Korea.

If leaving things up to chance isn’t worth the risk, then https://www.koreanbuddies.com/ is the place to go. This is a third-party website that will do the buying of the items and then sending to where ever in the world. Koreanbuddies do take 12% of the total cost as a fee with a minimum of 12 USD. As a buyer, it is easy to input the URL link of what is wanted and then the quality. Koreanbuddies will send an email with how much is needed to buy the items, and once it is paid the items will be ordered. When the items arrive the customer will get an email with a picture so the buyer can verify that everything is as wanted, and shipping will be calculated, paid, and then sent off. It seems like a lot of steps but Koreanbuddies make it super simple.

It is frustrating that there is not an easier method for international fans to support the Seoul Dynasty through merch buying, but as the team is localized in South Korea it makes sense.

Which piece of merch did the Seoul Dynasty hit the nail on the head?
