Slice This is a game about cutting chunks out of a pool. That pool is filled with water, balls and fish. You need to collect some of them, protect the others, and try and slice enough away with a set number of moves to finish the level.

Keep the fish in the water

If you cut the level in a way that’s going to leave any of the fish out of water, you’re going to fail. If there are two of them, for example, and you cut a line between them, one of them is going to end up out of the pool. Think about your cuts before you make them.

Don’t cut them either

Another way to fail a level is by cutting directly into a fish or one of the other creatures in the pool. This can sometimes be a little tricky, since the critters move around. Take your time with your slices and don’t put yourself in any unnecessary danger by cutting too close to a living thing.

Check your moves

You have a limited number of moves during each level, and once they’re gone, they’re gone. Check how many you start with and make sure you’re using all of them as effectively as possible. Small cuts can seem like a good idea, but a bunch of them isn’t going to get the level finished.

What are the gems for?

You can spend the gems on new fish skins in the shop at the start of each level. They’re pretty expensive, and they don’t add anything to the experience other than slightly different looking fish. Buy them if you’d like, but it isn’t worth watch the videos to increase your gem haul to get them quicker.

Revive or restart?

When you fail a level, you’re given the chance to watch a video to revive yourself and keep cutting from where you left off. For the most part, it’s best just to start the level over again rather than wasting time on the advert. The levels are short enough that you could have finished it on the second try before the ad has finished.
