Snoop Dogg Is Now Officially Part of Esports Organization FaZe Clan

It is now quite a common sight to see the worlds of entertainment and gaming cross over, and this latest move is one that will catch more eyeballs. Renowned rapper Snoop Dogg is making a big move, joining esports organization FaZe Clan as a new board member when it goes public in the United States later this year.

“The organic relationship between FaZe and Snoop has been building for years now, so we are thrilled to officially welcome FaZe Snoop to the family. As the original internet kid and first generation gamer, Snoop has always understood the cultural connection between music, lifestyle and gaming,” said Kai Henry, Chief Strategy Officer of FaZe Clan. “Today, Snoop is a prominent voice in the emerging Web3 community and we have exciting plans to create together in the metaverse, driving new engagement opportunities for both of our fanbases.”

However, even before he joins the board, Snoop Dogg will also fulfil the role of both a content creator as well as part of the talent network under FaZe Clan. This will see the 50-year-old join up with other creators, drive business deals, and even have his own merchandise to push. In addition, he will also be launching a community outreach program focused on charitable activities that support the youth.

“It only makes sense to partner with FaZe Clan as both a team member and on the Board of Directors, the youth identifies with their brand and that’s something my son Cordell knew, which is why he brought us together,” explained Snoop Dogg.

“As I’ve been watching what FaZe Clan has been building in the gaming space, I knew there was a natural connection with what my dad has been doing,” said Cordell Broadus, Creative Consultant, Channel 21. “When I look at the two brands, I was inspired by the synergy they could create so I brought them together in this partnership. I can’t wait for the world to see what we are about to do.”

The Snoop Dogg and FaZe Clan relationship have always appeared to be tight on social media, and this latest move only solidifies the rapper’s intention to be part of the esports space. It remains to be seen just what else Snoop will be creating in the space.
