Spider-Man Face-Off – The Winner Revealed

Last week, in celebration of the theatrical release of Spider-Man: No Way Home, we asked YOU to help us decide which version of Spider-Man was the most amazing and spectacular of them all. Now, after thousands and thousands of 1v1 web-slinging battles with matchups like Tom Holland's Peter Parker vs. Miles Morales from Into the Spider-Verse and Gwen Stacy vs. Spider-Ham, the ultimate Spider-Man has been chosen.

So, who claimed the top spot in the battle for the greatest Spider-Man of all time? Drumroll please…

With a 91.3% win percentage, Tobey Maguire's Peter Parker from the Sam Raimi trilogy of films has claimed victory over all other Spideys by winning 19,557 of his 21,426 battles. Maguire's Spider-Man was one with an incredible global reach as the three films earned more than $2.5 billion globally and captured the hearts and minds of both those who loved comics and those who had never picked up an issue before.

While many would expect Tom Holland or Andrew Garfield to take the #2 spot, the Peter Parker from Marvel's Spider-Man by Insomniac Games for PS4/PS5 fought his way to earn that honor by winning 89.6% of his battles. We called Marvel's Spider-Man one of our favorite PlayStation exclusives and the community agreed as, in 2019, it dethroned Batman: Arkham City as the best-selling superhero video game in the U.S. Oh, and you could even wear Maguire's Spider-Man suit in the game, which surely added to its star power.

Holland, the star of Spider-Man: No Way Home, did manage to place third with a win percentage of 88.9%, and he helped make up a top 5 that also included Peter B. Parker and Miles Morales from Into the Spider-Verse, in that order.

Andrew Garfield fans, many who have been calling for the star of the Amazing Spider-Man movies to return for a few more films, will be happy to know he placed #7, just behind Peter Parker from the Ultimate Spider-Man comics. Rounding out the top 10 were Earth-616's Peter Parker from the comics, Peter Parker from the 1990s cartoon, and Miles Morales from Insomniac's PS4 and PS5 games.

Insomniac's Spider-Men took two of the top 10 spots in this face-off, which is probably a great sign for Insomniac, the studio that is currently hard at work on Spider-Man 2, which will see these two facing off against Tony Todd's Venom.

Taking last place, with a win percentage of only 12.9%, was Patton Parnell from 2014's Edge of Spider-Verse #4. He was one of the more terrifying takes on Spider-Man, and his short run may have led to him placing all the way at the bottom.

Joining Parnell at the tail end of the Face-Off are Pseter Psarker, Anansi, Nurotox, Web-Slinger, Longlegs Secundus, Max Borne, Spider-Byte, Spider-Girl/Penelope Parker, and Spider-X. Many of these aren't the traditional, heroic Spidey that the world has come to know and love, and they, unfortunately, stood little chance against the other variations of everyone's friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
