Spiidi departs Sprout after over four years

Timo “Spiidi” Richter is no longer a part of Sprout, the German organization announced on Twitter. He departs the squad as a free agent after more than four years and 1380 maps played, being the last remaining member of the original roster following the acquisition of Seed in 2017.

The departure of the 26-year-old is the first change that Sprout have seen in the off-season and the second in the last three months as the team replaced Max “Marix” Kugener with Laurențiu “lauNX” Țârlea in May.

Spiidi is no longer a part of Sprout

Spiidi spent the years between 2014 and 2017 bouncing between MOUZ and PENTA before the latter released its roster. The players were then acquired by Sprout and the German rifler remained a staple of the team for the next four and a half years.

During that time, Sprout claimed trophies from several regional events, both online and at LAN. In 2022, the team transitioned into a European roster and experienced a brief resurgence as they climbed up the ranks to No.19, just three spots shy of the organization’s all-time peak.

“Today will be one of the most emotional goodbyes as we say farewell to Spiidi. A player that was part of our journey from the very start, and who became family to us here at Sprout,” read Sprout‘s farewell statement.

The departing player made it clear that he intends to continue competing via a Twitlonger post. “I definitely want to continue as a player because I still love CS and I still love the grind and I especially still love the team game,” Spiidi wrote. “I have a lot of experience to offer. I don’t want to just join a team to have a team, I want to believe in what I am doing and I will give everything for the team that it will work out.”

The German organization is now one man short but is set to debut its new roster at ESL Challenger Series Season 42 Europe on August 16.

Sprout are now:
