Stoke City will be looking to extend their unbeaten run on the bounce in the Championship to four matches when they welcome a currently struggling Peterborough United to bet365 Stadium on Saturday evening with kickoff at 18:00.
Stoke have made a strong campaign this season claiming eight wins, four draws and five defeats in their 17 matches and currently occupy the fifth spot in the Championship standings on 28 points, 10 points adrift the automatic qualification spots.
Michael O’Neill’s side head into the match in a good form as they have now gone three matches unbeaten in the Championship picking up two wins and a draw in the run. Prior to run Stoke were coming off a four-match losing streak across all competitions hence they will be looking to maintain their new found momentum in the Saturday’s clash.
O’Neill’s side will fancy their chances in this fixture as the club has been in a good home form this season having claimed five wins, two draws and a defeat in their eight home matches so far and the last the time the two sides met at bet365 Stoke claimed a 3-0 win on the day and O’Neill will expecting a positive result on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Peterborough have found things rather difficult on their return to the second tier as they have only claimed four wins in their 17 matches so far while they have picked up three draws and suffered 10 defeats in the process, and currently sit just three points outside the relegation Zone in the 21st spot on 15 points.
Darren Ferguson’s side has been experiencing inconsistency in their form in the recent weeks as they have claimed two wins, a draw and three defeats in their last six league matches and head into the contest on back of a three-match winless run including a 1-0 defeat to Fulham at home shortly before the International break.
The visitors will therefore want to bounce back as they aim at staying outside the relegation zone but won’t be easy as they have recorded one of the worst away forms this season having just claimed one win in the eight away fixtures while suffering seven defeats in the run.
