There’s still plenty of footy left to be played, but a win could go a long way to ensuring a top-eight berth for these two clubs.
Sydney remains seventh on the ladder despite last week’s shock loss to Port, while the Saints are fighting for life in eighth after losing back-to-back games to the Lions and Bombers.
Wayward kicking was the main problem area for the Swans last week, something that has also plagued St Kilda right throughout the season.
As seen last week, the Saints continue to struggle to put together four quarters, but they did walk away comfortable 29-point winners then they played the Swans last year.
Statistically though, Sydney looks the much safer team to bet on.
The Swans average nearly five more inside 50 entries per-game than St Kilda, while they’re also ranked second in average disposals.
The Saints have always been a team that can put together a long winning streak and then fall in a hole midway through the season. It’s hard to say if that’s the case here, but with the Swans playing at home, they’re rightful favourites.
