Team India to compete with New Zealand for Bronze Medal in Dota 2 CWG 2022

Commonwealth Games saw the inaugral of the Commonwealth Esports Championships and the Commonwealth Esports Forum in Birmingham, England this summer. The event took place as a strategic partnership between the Global Esports Federation and the Commonwealth Games Federation, announced in May 2020.

A total of six individual titles are featured in the ongoing CEC 2022. Various esports athletes are competing in the eFootball (men and women), DOTA 2 (men and women), and Rocket League (men and women). The Indian esports athlete is competing in the DOTA 2 open and Rocket League open.

The group stage of DOTA 2 and Rocket League ended where the DOTA 2 Indian contingent made it to the semifinals but lost to Malaysia. Now the Indian team will be seen competing for the bronze medal match with New Zealand on 7th August 2022.

India vs New Zealand DOTA 2 Bronze Medal Match

Team India was placed in the group A along with England, Wales, and Trinidad and Tobago. The Indian team started their campaign with a walkthrough against Trinidad and Tobago as the team failed to show up at the venue. India won the next match against Wales but lost to England. Thus placing them in the second spot after the completion of group stage matches.

However, the squad failed to win against Team Malaysia in the semi-finals. Now the team will play against Team New Zealand for the Bronze Medal match.
