The February Nintendo Direct will focus mostly on titles for 2022

Nintendo of America and Europe has confirmed that a Nintendo Direct will air on February 9 at 14:00 PT/17:00 ET/22:00 UK/23:00 CET for roughly 40 minutes of information, focusing mostly on games releasing in the first half of 2022.

We know about quite a few games in the next few months, so we expect to see more information on titles like Triangle Strategy, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Advance Wars 1+2 Reboot-Camp, Splatoon 3, and perhaps smaller titles like Chocobo Racing GP. Of course, the odd surprise is also very likely, so we hope this Nintendo Direct February 2022 gives us something we’ve been dreaming of, like the Hollow Knight: Silksong release date.

While the wording very specifically mentions games launching in the first half of 2022, it’s not unlike Nintendo to throw in the odd surprise, and we’re overdue an update on the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Hopefully, we at least get a name reveal, so I can stop typing out that unwieldy placeholder. Rumours have also been swirling of a new Mario Kart to commemorate the series 30th anniversary this year, though that feels more like a summer Nintendo Direct reveal.
