The Game Awards 2022 Will be Roughly Two and a Half Hours Long

The Game Awards are coming up later this week on December 8, and new details on the event are continuing to emerge ahead of the day. Recently, producer and host Geoff Keighley confirmed that this year’s show would be “significantly shorter” than past years, in response to feedback from audiences, and he has now provided further details on that front.

Speaking recently on a Twitch stream, Keighley revealed that though final rehearsals are yet to happen (which means specific haven’t been completely nailed down), The Game Awards 2022 will be roughly two and a half hours long, which is about 45 minutes less than last year’s show.

“Yeah, the show is going to be shorter this year,” he said. “We don’t know the full time until we finish our rehearsals, but I think it’s probably going to be about a two and a half hour show. I think last year’s was like three hours and fifteen minutes, or something like that. It might spread a little bit, as speeches go long and things like that, but we’re definitely trying to reduce the runtime a little bit. ”

Keighley recently also confirmed that the show will feature 30-40 new showings, of which several have already been confirmed as part of the lineup, including Tekken 8, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Baldur’s Gate 3, Among Us, Final Fantasy 16and a new 505 Games title. Meanwhile, as per reports, other announcements will include Kojima Productions’ next gameDiablo 4a new Crash Bandicoot title, Horizon Forbidden West expansion, and more.
