The Last of Us PS5 Remake Compared to PS4 Remaster, Has More Detail

Naughty Dog has dropped another short but sweet comparison video that pits PS5 remake The Last of Us: Part I against its last-gen counterparts. This time around it’s the turn of the PS4 remaster which released in 2014, just one year after the PS3 original. The clip compares a few seconds of the introductory sequence when Joel and Sarah start to realise what’s gone wrong after Tommy picks them up in his car. Check it out above.

As you can probably tell, there’s so, so much more detail in the PS5 remake that really brings the fire raging inside the barn to life. There’s even a bit of debris that falls off the rooftop not present in the PS4 remaster! Put that on the back of the box! It looks pretty incredible, ensuring this will be one of the best-looking games on PS5 when it releases in a few weeks on 2nd September 2022.

This is the second time Naughty Dog has published comparisons between the PS5 remake and PS4 remaster — the first one can be viewed through the link. An official deep dive was also uploaded last month that tells you everything there is to know about the current-gen remake.
