The Magical Mixture Mill Is Factorio But For Brewing Potions

Interesting how there are plenty of potion-brewing games cropping up in recent months, from Potioncraft leaving Early Access this month to the quiet release of Potionomics.

And here’s one more game with the same theme, coming next year. The Magical Mixture Mill is by developer Glowlight, and will be published by Hook, 505 Games’ indie publishing label.

The Magical Mixture Mill is a potion brewing game, but also an automated potion brewing game. You are a former adventurer that now is under the tutelage of Griselda- an elder witch that runs Griselda’s Magical Mixtures. As her apprentice, you’ll need to go out and gather the ingredients to make various potions and brews for your customers- local heroes on quests.

The twist here is that you’re not brewing all the potions by hand. You have to make an assembly line that automates the process. There are conga lines of magical conveyor belts where the potions are transported around, you can see near the end of the trailer. Hence the comparison to Factorio.

The Magical Mixture Mill also requires you to get to know customers and provide the right potions for them to keep them “hooked” and coming back for more. These relationships can level up, and as they do, you’ll be required to brew more advanced concoctions to satisfy their needs.

A whimsy game about brewing potions would have been “another one of those”, so hats off to the developer for bringing conveyor belts into the mix.

The Magical Mixture Mill will enter Early Access on PC via Steam sometime in early 2023.
