We didn’t expect much from 2020’s Deliver Us The Moon, but in fact, it wowed us. There is therefore much hype surrounding today’s launch of Deliver Us Mars.

Available to purchase and download right this very minute on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC (through either Steam or Epic, you choose!) is Frontier and KeokeN Interactive’s Deliver Us Mars. Running as a sequel to the critically acclaimed Deliver Us The Moon – 4/5 when we reviewed it – you’ll get the chance to head to the Red Planet, hoping to save humanity in the process.

Deliver Us Mars is set a decade after the events of the first game. It follows Kathy Johanson – an astronaut-in-training who joins the crew of the Zephyr space shuttle, tasked with a crucial mission. In fact, you probably couldn’t get a more crucial mission as your focus is set on the recovery of enormous colony ships known as ARKs, which have the power to reverse the devastating effects of climate change on a near-future Earth.

Having travelled to Mars, your quest is to retrieve these vessels from Outward, a shadowy organisation that commandeered this lifesaving technology and chose to leave humanity behind. Kathy has a personal reason for joining the mission, however: to discover the truth about her fugitive father’s disappearance after a mysterious transmission from the Red Planet hints he may still be alive.

Crash-landing on Mars, you’ll find the chance to explore a multitude of environments, from sand-ravaged settlements and icy valleys, to the abandoned ARKs, each offering different gameplay challenges. And you’ll have to decide how to best make progress too – whether it be by using Kathy’s climbing axes to navigate terrifying drops from cliff faces, solving intricate puzzles to progress, or scuba diving and tumbling over dunes in Mars rovers.

You can be sure that Deliver Us Mars promises an unforgettable narrative journey, blending a cinematic adventure with epic personal stakes.

The key features of that adventure include:

  • A BOLD NEW MISSION – Ten years after the Fortuna mission, humanity is closer than ever to extinction. After a mysterious distress call from Mars, Earth’s youngest astronaut Kathy Johanson joins the Zephyr and its crew on one last mission: to recover the ARK colony ships stolen by the mysterious Outward, and with them, ensure the survival of the human race.
  • OUT OF THIS WORLD GAMEPLAY – Board the Zephyr as you journey from Earth to the surface of Mars. Traverse and endure its harsh and unforgiving terrain as you quest to discover the secrets left behind by Outward. Use both brains and brawn to overcome mental and physical challenges, find the ARKs, and uncover the motivations of those behind the distress call that brought you here.
  • A HANDCRAFTED EXPERIENCE – Experience a highly polished and absorbing narrative experience packed with engaging gameplay. Every moment is handcrafted, delivering a suspense-filled, emotion-fuelled narrative alongside music from award-winning composer Sander Van Zanten, state-of-the-art motion capture, and stunning graphics, powered by Unreal Engine.

The Xbox Store is ready and waiting to provide you access to Deliver Us Mars on Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S, fully optimised for the new-gen consoles. It’s also available on PlayStation and PC.

Our review is in the works.
