PS5 cheapest SSD upgrades on Black Friday 2021

But where are you going to keep all of these new games? On PlayStation 5, many gamers have found themselves starved of internal storage that you can run PS5 games from. Thankfully, with the SSD expansion slot update a few months ago, there are now quite a few options for getting a little more breathing room. The Western Digital SN850 is very well regarded as one of the best NVMe SSDs out there, as is the Samsung 980 Pro, while there’s still very capable options in the form of the Crucial P5 Plus and ADATA XPG GAMMIX S70 Blade. Keep an eye out for the S70, which has been dropping in and out of very good offers on Amazon over the last few days.

The Crucial P5 Plus SSD is a solid option for the PS5.

In general the best price points we’re seeing at ~£60 for 500GB, £105-140 for 1TB, and £230-260 for 2TB with Scan and Amazon having the standout offers. These are some significant savings, but there’s some variation between sellers, added value with bundled in heatsinks (worth £10-12), and limited-time offers. Given the rush to buy, be very careful that you are buying the correct model of SSD, which is rated for read speeds of more than 5,500MB/s.
