The Walking Dead Season 11 Death Predictions: Who Lives And Dies?

In the world of The Walking Dead, your favorite character may be one ill-timed nap or unlocked door away from death. Those kinds of stakes have meant the AMC series has seen a lot of turnover in its band of heroes over the years, as new characters are always coming in to replace those who have died, fled, or were even kidnapped. (Where are you, Rick?) But with only a few episodes left in the series’ 11-season storyline, there remain roughly 30 characters whose fates still need to be decided, and no doubt they won’t all make it out alive.

With that in mind, we’ve put together a list of all currently alive Walking Dead characters and tried our best to predict their fates. Who will make it out alive? Who will die a hero’s death? Who might weasel out to torment the good guys in one of several spin-offs AMC has planned? From plot-armored favorites like Daryl and Maggie to future walker snacks like Sebastian and Ezekiel, here are our best The Walking Dead Season 11 death predictions.

Dianne – Basically Dead Already

Dianne has been the Redshirt dodging death for half a decade on the show, but it feels like the final season is when the writers will decide to finally kill her off.

Elijah – Probably Safe

One might see a mid-tier character like Elijah as being on the chopping block, but I see him surviving and going on the trip with Maggie and Negan–and then dying in episode three of the spin-off, to be honest.

Magna – Basically Dead Already

Magna hasn’t been given much screen time through two-thirds of the final season, but she’s now set to help lead the resistance inside the Commonwealth. I think those facts combined make her likely fodder for the Commonwealth peacekeepers, and I bet Yumiko watches it happen.

Milton – In Danger

Though Milton is the head of the Commonwealth, I could see her weaseling her way to safety in the final episodes, either by some yet unseen connection to the CRM or because, thematically, The Walking Dead’s final season has painted a bleak picture of how politicians get away with murder–sometimes literally.

Annie – Basically Dead Already

Unfortunately for Negan, the writing is on the wall for his new flame. I fully expect Annie to die a tragic death as some sort of cosmic justice for what Negan did to Glenn all those years back.

Lydia – In Danger

Lydia isn’t young enough to fit into the group of kids I’d deem safe, and in fact, The Walking Dead has shown a habit of killing teens and young adults. Still, her coming all the way back from her life as a Whisperer would be a hopeful message, but maybe this is the wrong show for that.

Sebastian – Basically Dead Already

While his mother may sneak out to safety, I don’t think Sebastian will be so lucky, especially since even his mom seems fed up with him. Bet on Daryl or Rosita delivering the final blow after the way Sebastian threatened their families.

Kelly – In Danger

Kelly and Connie are so closely linked that I think one won’t make it out of the show, as a way to pull on heartstrings. In this case, I expect Kelly to selflessly sacrifice herself to save her sister.

Max – Basically Dead Already

Like Kelly and Connie, Max and Eugene feel tied at the hip. Does the show kill them both off? I think Max will die and set her brother Mercer down a path to fully revolt against his bosses.

Yumiko – In Danger

Yumiko is serving in the Commonwealth’s state department, and I think when she gets too close to the truth, she may be axed by Pamela or Lance so they can keep the resistance at bay.

The Kids (Judith, RJ, Hershel, Coco, and Gracie) – Probably Safe

While I wouldn’t put it past The Walking Dead to put kids in harm’s way yet again in the final episodes, I think at least most, if not all, of the kids will make it out alive.

Dog – Probably Safe

Daryl’s dog, affectionately named Dog, seems to be a likely companion in that Daryl and Carol spin-off AMC announced, though I could also see the show existing without the good boy.

Jerry – Basically Dead Already

Jerry is the loveable comic relief in the show, and is charmingly loyal to Ezekiel, his former “king.” I feel confident Jerry will die a hero’s death defending his liege once more.

Connie – Probably Safe

Again, this is perhaps a coin flip with Connie and her sister Kelly. I don’t see them both surviving, but if either is to appear in The Walking Dead Universe going forward, I’d bet it’s Connie. It could go either way.

Mercer – In Danger

One could see Mercer going down in a hail of gunfire and bravado after he’s changed teams to fight the Commonwealth, but he may not have many allies in the Commonwealth peacekeeping force. I worry they’ll corner him and do Milton’s bidding when push comes to shove.

Princess – In Danger

It feels like we only just met Princess, but given her relationship with Mercer, who will soon have a huge target on his back, Princess seems to be right in harm’s way too.

Ezekiel – Basically Dead Already

The King has seemingly beaten cancer, but I think his arc will close with a hero’s death, perhaps right alongside Jerry. Carol no longer loves him, but I think she wouldn’t hit the road with Daryl unless Zeke wasn’t around.

Eugene – Probably Safe

Eugene is the show’s most prominent cornball, and while some find him exhausting, he joined up alongside Rosita so long ago and has been a staple of the show. I could see Eugene surviving but watching a lot of his friends die, and having a lot of regrets about how he’s lived his life in the post-apocalypse.

Lance – Basically Dead Already

The world of The Walking Dead is bleak, but I don’t see any way for the villainous Lance to make it out alive. Though he has many underlings to do his bidding, his dishonesty and constant scheming also mean he has many crosshairs pointed his way.

Aaron – In Danger

I don’t want to say Aaron is definitely going to die, but I feel like his death would be really devastating for fans, as he’s become a favorite over the years. That kind of gut-punch can be irresistible for the final season’s writers, I expect.

Gabriel – Basically Dead Already

Gabe’s arc has been a fascinating one, starting out as the cowardly priest who locked out his congregation before morphing into the unrepentant warrior he is today. But that arc feels like it’s closing, and sadly Coco may soon be without a father figure.

Rosita – Probably Safe

Rosita’s death would definitely hit a lot of fans hard as she’s one of the longest-tenured characters on the show, but I expect she will outlast the final season to live on with Coco.

Negan – Definitely Safe

AMC has already spoiled a few characters’ fates for us, including Negan so you can be sure he’s at least safe until he hits the road with Maggie, though I’ll add that I think he dies in that six-episode mini-series.

Maggie – Definitely Safe

Maggie will be heading to the Big Apple with Negan and, presumably, Hershel, so she’s loaded up on plot armor for now. For the record, I see her surviving that epilogue, too.

Carol – Definitely Safe

Carol will be joining Daryl (and Dog?) on their spin-off, so that sadly means all of her future near-death drama in the final season won’t feel genuine. She’s got full-body plot armor.

Daryl – Definitely Safe

No death would hit harder than Daryl’s for most fans, but he is completely safe as AMC has already revealed his spin-off with Carol.
