Tips to Get the Most Out of Riders Republic

Riders Republic

So you’re just about to jump into Riders Republic. The size of the world and the amount of events on offer can be rather daunting. Don’t worry; we’re here to give you a helping hand.

The latest game from Ubisoft, Riders Republic is a huge sandbox filled with winter sports and extreme races. Rather than settle on one discipline, like many sports games do, Riders Republic instead features several. There’s biking, skiing, snowboarding, wingsuiting and rocket-wingsuiting. And more extreme versions of each of those, too.

The first thing you need to know about Riders Republic is that it doesn’t take itself too seriously. One second you might be in a fairly straight-laced mountain bike racing, whizzing down a rocky path. The next you might be cycling uphill dressed in an inflatable giraffe costume. Yes, this is a game about having fun, and embracing that is the first step to getting the most out of the game. We’ve laid out a few tips to help get you in the right direction.

Go with the flow

There’s no set path to take through Riders Republic. Your in-game goals simply revolve around earning stars – and you can earn stars however you like. Simply completing an event will net you a star, with more stars up for grabs by completing challenges within each event (i.e. finish a race within a certain time, win on a particular difficulty, score so many points). You can also earn stars for finding landmarks around Riders Republic’s huge map.

And so, as long as you’re earning stars, it absolutely doesn’t matter how you earn them. Stick to one discipline if you want, or dip in and out of them as the mood takes. There’s no right or wrong way to play, and that’s the beauty of the game.

Take part in at least one Mass Race

Every hour, a Mass Race event happens in Riders Republic. These huge online events see up to 64 players all compete against each other on the same course. Typically you’ll switch disciplines as you race so they’ll encompass all three of biking, skiing and flying. And yes, 64 people on the same course is as hectic as it sounds. You might come dead last, but it doesn’t matter; these ridiculous events are worth taking part in at least once just for the experience.

Make use of exploration vehicles

Riders Republic’s map is HUGE. Ridiculously huge. We wouldn’t recommend you try and get around it on foot. You have a wealth of exploration tools at your disposal, which unlock quickly into the game. The first two you’ll unlock are a rocket-powered bike and a snowmobile. Both are essential for getting round quickly and effectively. And you’ll no doubt have fun while you do so. That rocket-powered bike is fast.

Keep checking your sponsors

As you progress through Riders Republic, you’ll earn new sponsors. Each sponsor will give you various daily tasks to complete, and finishing them will net you all kinds of rewards. It’s worth keeping an eye on these – you can access them through the game’s main menu. The tasks come in all shapes and sizes; some of them you’ll complete naturally but others will take special effort. They’re worth doing if you can, though, because extra rewards are always good.

Dress up

You’ll unlock new clothing as you play through Riders Republic, and you’ll be able to buy new stuff with the coins you earn, too. Have fun dressing up. There are some ridiculous outfits out there, so embrace the game’s fun-loving nature and go wild!

Play with a friend

If you have a friend (or multiple friends) also playing Riders Republic, join up with them. The game supports cross-play, so regardless what platform you’re on you’ll be able to play together. And teaming up with friends makes Riders Republic even more fun. You can compete against each other in events, or simply razz around together, making the most of your time in the snow (or the forest).
