Top NBA Betting Games of the Week : Miami & Bucks Looking Good

Despite the distractions surrounding the fate of Ben Simmons, the Philadelphia 76ers have shaken off a 2-2 start to roar to the top of the Eastern Conference standings, currently sitting at 8-2 on a six-game winning streak. The Cleveland Cavaliers have also been a pleasant surprise during the young season, winning four in a row to post a 7-4 record. The Detroit Pistons and the Charlotte Hornets are the coldest teams in the East, riding four-game skids, and the Pistons already average a -12.8 points per game differential as their long rebuild continues. In the West, the Golden State Warriors are dominating ahead of schedule, posting an 8-1 record even while awaiting the return of Klay Thompson. The Dallas Mavericks are third in the West with a 6-3 record despite a -4.3 points per game differential, as their losses have been much more emphatic than their wins. Only 1 ½ games separate third place from tenth place in the West, as there is still a lot of sorting to get done, but New Orleans and Houston have both started 1-9; Pelicans fans may have expected their team to contend for a postseason spot, but without Zion Williamson, that will not happen soon, and Rockets fans were expecting a tough rebuild this year.

Let’s look at a couple of primo NBA betting matchups early this week.

NBA News: Top Betting Games of the Week

Miami Heat at Denver Nuggets (9:00 pm ET)

Monday, November 8
Miami started out last week hot, beating Memphis by 26 and Dallas by 15, both on the road. Then they went home and lost to Boston by 17 before rebounding to beat Utah, 118-115, on Saturday. In that win over the Jazz, Tyler Herro continued his hot start to the season, putting up 29 points, and Kyle Lowry had the 19th triple-double of his career. Miami had a 19-point lead with five minutes left in regulation, before the Jazz posted a furious run. It was only when Donovan Mitchell clanked a three-ball in the waning seconds that the Heat could breathe easy. Lowry put up 20 points, a dozen boards and ten assists, and Jimmy Butler put up 27 points, including a pair of free throws with 10.4 seconds left on the clock.

Denver took a couple of close losses in Memphis last week (by a combined total of 11 points) before returning home and edging a struggling Houston team at home, 95-94, on Saturday. Nikola Jokic had a key block on Jae’Sean Tate’s drive to the hoop at the end of regulation to preserve the win. Jokic had 28 points and 14 rebounds as Denver won without Michael Porter Jr, who left in the first quarter with lower back soreness. Aaron Gordon had nine points, including two three-balls from the corner. A bright spot off the bench for Denver has been rookie guard Bones Hyland, who has earned time in the rotation.

Final Score Prediction: Miami 106, Denver 101 : Bet the Game Today

Milwaukee Bucks at Philadelphia 76ers (7:30 pm ET, TNT)

Tuesday, November 9
The Milwaukee Bucks are definitely struggling in the early weeks of their title defense, losers of two in a row and five out of six. They lost at home to New York by 14 and then lost in Washington by seven on Sunday. In that setback, Bradley Beal put up 30 for the Wizards, one more point that Giannis Antetokounmpo was able to muster for the Bucks. He also had 18 rebounds. Grayson Allen scored 19 and Bobby Portis had a double-double with 13 points and 13 boards. Washington raced out to a 12-0 lead to start the game, and while the Bucks fought back to lead by three at the half, they could not hold on. The Bucks were even assessed a technical during the second period and had a basket taken away for having six players on the floor at once, so focus still seems to be a problem. Khris Middleton missed his fourth game after a COVID-19 positive test.

The Philadelphia 76ers don’t seem like they can get a break; their 8-2 start and lead in the East are in jeopardy as Joel Embiid has tested positive for COVID-19 and will have to miss at least 10 days. On Saturday, Philadelphia beat Chicago — as Embiid put up 30 points and 15 boards. Furkan Korkmaz had 25 points, including a career best seven three-pointers. Shake Milton also had 13 points in the win. Can the 76ers continue their winning ways without their big man?

Final Score Prediction: Milwaukee 110, Philadelphia 105 : Bet the Game Today
