Top NBA Betting Games of the Weekend: Check out the Celtics and Blazers

The hottest team in the NBA right now is the Phoenix Suns, who came back in the fourth quarter to beat a Dallas Mavericks team missing Luka Doncic on Wednesday night to make it ten wins in a row. The Suns are now a game back of Golden State in the Western Conference standings. The third through sixth-place teams in the West right now are all 9-5, so we could be about to see some significant movement. In the Eastern Conference, the amazing Washington Wizards have gotten some great play out of their new additions, rolling to a 10-4 record and a perch atop the standings — and Bradley Beal isn’t playing all that well yet.

Let’s take a look at your best online NBA betting opportunities from the Association for this weekend.

NBA News: Top Betting Games of the Weekend

L.A. Lakers at Boston Celtics (7:30 pm ET, ESPN)

Friday, November 19
The struggling Lakers have dropped two in a row and three of four, losing at home against Chicago and then falling in Milwaukee on Wednesday night. The team is still missing LeBron James, and according to ESPN, his odds of playing against Boston are 50-50. He has missed eight games with an abdominal strain, and the team has gone 3-5 in those eight games. Trevor Ariza and Kendrick Nunn are also on the shelf. Anthony Davis put up 18, and Talen Horton-Tucker put up 25. Russell Westbrook chipped in 19, Malik Monk scored 11 and CArmelo Anthony had 10 points.

Boston has dropped two of three, splitting a pair in Cleveland and then losing in Atlanta on Wednesday night. The Celtis focused on stopping Trae Young, but the rest of the Hawks were still able to do their damage. Grant Williams scored 18 for Boston in relief of the injured Robert Williams. Jayson Tatum was 5 of 13 from behind the arc, and Williams was 3 of 8, but the rest of the Celtics went 3 of 21 from downtown. The team is still missing Jaylen Brown (hamstring strain). With both teams struggling, I’m leaning toward the home team in the latest iteration of this classic rivalry.

Final Score Prediction: Boston 107, Los Angeles 101 : Bet the Game Today

Philadelphia 76ers at Portland Trail Blazers (10:00 pm ET)

Saturday, November 20
The 76ers have lost five in a row, including a 120-85 beating at the hands of the Utah Jazz on Tuesday to start their West Coast swing. Philadelphia only shot 37% for the game and only managed six offensive rebounds in the process. Shake Milton put up 18 points, and Tyrese Maxey chipped in 16. Joel Embiid and Matisse Thybulle are still in the COVID-19 health and safety protocols, and Embiid’s experience of symptoms could push his return back even further. Danny Green (hamstring) and Ben Simmons (personal reasons) also remain on the shelf.

Portland comes in on the momentum of a 112-107 home win over the streaking Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night. Damian Lillard shook off a cold start and ended up with 22 points and 10 assists. Jusuf Nurkic was a force inside, putting up 18 points and a dozen boards. The Trail Blazers fell behind by 20 in the first half but came all the way back, and now they have a 7-1 home record. Lillard had a three-ball to give Portland a 102-98 lead, and then Nurkic made the lead six with a dunk, and the Bulls could not come back from that. With that momentum, the Trail Blazers should have what it takes to take care of a Philadelphia team missing so many key contributors.

Final Score Prediction: Portland 112, Philadelphia 101 : Bet the Game Today
