Total War: Warhammer 3 2022 roadmap has been detailed

Total War: Warhammer 3’s 2022 road map has been detailed by Creative Assembly. Update 1.1 for the game has already been released, which focused on improving the campaign. In May, update 1.2 will be released and the focus of it will be additional changes and fixes. These include issues around the speed in which AI factions can build towers, flying units getting stuck, and ranged units not engaging with targets. The first Regiments of Renown will also be added in May which are elite units that can be recruited, and they will available for all core races.

In Q3 2022, which covers July, August, and September, update 1.3 will be released. The second Regiment of Renown units will also be added. Update 1.3 will include an improved Cathay formation attack, skill tree reworks, adjustments to the Tzeentch and Slaanesh replenishment rates, and more field battles. The Total War Assembly kit is also set to be released during this period, and it will provide tools that will allow for easy mod creations.

Update 2.0 will also be released in Q3 2022 for Total War: Warhammer 3. This major update will add the Immortal Empires beta, merging all of the maps and factions from all the Total War: Warhammar games, provided you own them, which means you can deploy the factions on a huge battlefield. It will be an integrated open beta. This phase will allow the developers to listen to the community and put in balances and fixes as needed. An Old World update called Warriors of Chaos will refresh the races yet to be updated from the previous games, and this one will focus on the Warriors of Chaos. Future updates will focus on other groups. Blood Pack III will also be released to add more particle and visual effects. The Lords Pack will be the first DLC for Total War: Warhammer 3 released for the game, adding new Legendary Lords, Lords, Heroes, and other units to the game.

In Q4 2022, which covers October, November, and December, the third Regiment of Renown will be made available. Update 2.1 will also be released to respond to any issues that crop up with update 2.0. This will then be followed by either update 2.2 or update 3.0 depending on the content that is ready to be deployed.

While the content for 2023 is yet to be finalised there are some areas that the team are looking at for Total War: Warhammer 3. This includes reworking the chat function including adding tools to report harassment and abuse, and backend tools so chats can be moderated 24/7. Domination mode will be expanded with new maps and better faction balance. Land Battle maps from Warhammer 1 and Warhammer 2 are being worked on so they can be imported to Warhammer 3, but there is no timeline for that yet.

In our review for Total War: Warhammer 3, Stefan wrote: “If Total War Warhammer 3 is the beginning of the end for Creative Assembly’s fantasy series, then it’s going out on a high note. The game takes several steps forward in how the campaign works, how it builds toward climactic battles and then how those battles take place, and there’s plenty of quality of life improvements for the Total War series as a whole.”
