Travel to far off lands in Endzone – A World Apart: Distant Places DLC

RTS and sim-builder games typically arrive on consoles long after their PC counterparts. This is mainly due to the humble controller struggling when compared to a keyboard and mouse. On one hand, the wait can be frustrating, but on the other hand, we know what is coming up in terms of post-release. For console gamers who are wanting more Endzone, the wait is over. Today sees the release of Endzone – A World Apart: Distant Place DLC on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.

Following in the footsteps of Frostpunk and Surviving the Aftermath, Endzone – A World Apart is a post-apocalyptic city-builder. The Distant Places expansion expands upon the main narrative with much requested features, new foods and resources and brand-new environments to discover:

  • A Story Untold: Experience 12 story-driven, large-scaled global expeditions that take you to four varied, yet unseen places of the world. Suited for only the most well-equipped adventurers, they offer uncertain but very rewarding outcomes.
  • Brick by Brick: Support and expand the settlement with new buildings by discovering blueprints during treacherous new expeditions
  • Beyond the Mysterious Beyond: Driven by an insatiable quest for knowledge and resources, settlers can take to the skies aboard their purpose-built hot air balloon in search of new opportunities
  • Exotic Treats: Give the gift of scurvy prevention, by letting settlers experience the unique tastes and merits of six all-new exotic seeds like coconuts and bananas.

This new DLC comes in a variety of flavours on the Xbox Store. Firstly, there is just the Distant Places DLC, which is priced at £6.49. If you haven’t picked up the base game yet, there is now a Complete Edition, priced at £45.99. This is only £1 more than the standard game so if you have yet to try Endzone, this Complete Edition is a no-brainer. Let us know in the comments if you will be picking this one up.

Game description

It has been centuries since we started to regain our foothold on the surface of the earth. Up to this day, we have strived to establish a flourishing haven, much more than just a shelter to withstand the harsh environment we find ourselves in. It’s a place that provides safety, health care, education and even electricity, but most importantly, it’s a place everybody can call their home. A place to pursue happiness. But even after reaching these important milestones and creating a new and healthy civilization, our people are still curious as to what lies ahead. Being the pioneers they are, they want to reach out to other survivors and discover new and exciting places beyond the borders of the settlement. They want to uncover the Distant Places, far, far away that so many legends speak of.
