There’s a new Marvel movie coming out. Because there’s always a new Marvel movie coming out. This one’s called Thor: Love and Thunder, and to celebrate its imminent release, Marvel Contest of Champions is adding a couple of new characters.
Which characters? Why Valkyrie and Gorr the God Butcher. Obviously. Gorr is a grumpy so-and-so who decided to kill all the gods after his family died. Valkyrie is the sovereign of New Asgard and a bit of a sword-balancing badass.
To celebrate the new characters, we’ve got a new trailer to show you. It features lots of sharp things as well as a breakdown of each new champion’s special moves. Let’s watch it, shall we?
Elsewhere, there are some other promotions running in the game. Anyone logging in between July 8th (the release date of the motion picture) and August 2nd will receive a free Thor (Ragnarok) or Thor (Jane Foster).
From June 29th through to July 5th there’s going to be a special login calendar that’ll offer players champion shards. And there’s even going to be a special summer sale kicking off on July 1st and running until July 5th.
