Ketlen Vieira (11-2, 5-2 UFC, -117) vs Miesha Tate (19-7, 6-4 UFC, -103) is the latest chapter in Tate’s comeback tale. In 2016, she was the top contender for Holly Holm, then the bantamweight champ. Then Tate came from behind to beat Holm via submission and take the belt. She would only hold the title until Amanda Nunes snatched it away a few months later. After a frankly boring loss to Raquel Pennington, Tate retired at just 30 years old. Earlier this year, she announced her comeback out of nowhere. She demolished Marion Reneau in July and now gets a five-rounder against Vieira.

Vieira also shot up from prospect to contender relatively quickly. Between the end of 2016 and the start of 2018, she had taken down Sara McMann and Cat Zingano and was part of the title conversation. Before she could get a title shot, though, she lost over a year and a half to injury, and then when she returned in 2019 she was dealt a knockout by Irene Aldana. Since that loss, she has had a hard time regenerating momentum. She beat Sijara Eubanks easily but then lost to Yana Kunitskaya on the cards.

Vieira likesto bring big bombs, although her clinch game is underrated, especially when you consider her strength, size and bravado, she finishes more than she should. However, she depends on that physicality because of what is still a gap in her technique, as we saw in the loss to Kunitskaya. Tate has both the technique and the physicality, but can she eat punishment? Can she last five rounds at this point? I’m going with the slight edge in value (and the gap in technique).

Sean Brady (14-0, 4-0 UFC, -157) vs Michael Chiesa (18-5, 11-5 UFC, +137)

Chiesa’s move to welterweight looks like a wise decision after he had found himself in a bit of a cul-de-sac at lightweight. He has bulked up without having to go through the weight cut, and now he can bully his opponents; at lightweight, that often went against him. He beat Carlos Condit and Diego Sanchez after changing divisions, but those were mostly veteran tomato cans. Rafael dos Anjos and Neil Magny represented more quality wins, showing his aggression on the floor. He did lose to Vicente Luque in his last fight via choke, and he has all he can handle in a tough fight against Chiesa.

When Chiesa entered UFC, he was a top prospect to watch. He has a measured style that does not wow spectators but makes him a natural to last five rounds. He beat Ismail Naurdiev in February 2020 that showed he brought something special to the promotion. Brady might put the clamps on Chiesa and roll from there, but Ciesa is the better wrestler and should win, particularly if that gives us extra value.

Final Prediction: Chiesa wins via decision : Bet the Game Today
