According to a release, the event is the beginning of a series of UNO! Mobile competitive tournaments throughout 2022. As a result, the UNO! Mobile Wildcard Series will launch a community cup in Q4 2022 which allows anybody to compete.

The competition consists of 2v2 matches in which when one teammate is victorious, both players win. All creators participating in UNO! Mobile Wildcard Series: All-Stars will broadcast their live stream via their own channels.

Seemingly, UNO! looks to be the latest traditional game to break into the esports scene, with the mobile game utilising influencers to raise awareness for its new series. In recent years, games such as poker and chess have risen in prominence virtually.

Amy Huang, the CEO of Mattel163, commented “UNO! Mobile Wildcard Series: All-Stars represents the first event in a new era of UNO! Mobile competitive gaming.

“We see UNO! Mobile as the perfect fit for a competitive tournament. We are looking to establish UNO! Mobile as a frontrunner in a wave of accessible competitive gaming—we have an exciting slate of tournaments coming up, and look forward to building the UNO! Mobile ecosystem with our incredible community of global players.”
