The holiday of Geheimnisnacht is the Warhammer Fantasy equivalent of Halloween, and it’s appropriate that Vermintide 2 players get a new in-game event to celebrate the spooky season. The Geheimnisnacht update also brings an update to the Chaos Wastes expansion called Grudge Marks to make things a little tougher.
The Geheimnisnacht event runs until Nov. 7 and includes ritual sites that spawn throughout the levels Righteous Stand, Enchanter’s Lair, Screaming Bell, Old Haunts, and Empire in Flames. Players can either engage with the ritual sites and try to secure the Skull of Blosphoros or avoid them entirely. Ritual sites and stolen skulls add extra risk, but also seasonal rewards.
Grudge Marks, however, are a permanent addition to the game. While going through the Chaos Wastes, players may notice monsters with two spears through their back. Grudge Marked monsters have attributes that make give them new abilities for both offense and defense, but there are new challenges that incentives the squad to take them on regardless.
The Geheimnisnacht event is live across all platforms, but Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is currently on sale on Steam for $7.49, which is a great grab for those craving Left 4 Dead, except with more furious rat-men.
