Walkthrough for Vergeway Chapter 2

Okay. I’m going to get through the Vergeway Chapters at my own pace (hopefully one per week). Here’s Vergeway Chapter 2. Please level up your cards as fast as possible.

If the technique doesn’t work, you need to unlock more chests.

Vergeway Chapter 2 Stage 1

  • Start with 35 Aether and 1500 Stronghold health
  • Objective: Defeat all Enemies
  • 141 Enemies to beat
  • Enemies encountered: Arrow Tower, Sword Squad, Cavalry Squad, Ballista Squad, Billy
  • Card selection: Ice Tower, Sword Squad, Hammer Squad, Axel, Fireball (or Blizzard)

Ice Towers can attack from five columns away, so placing the first Ice Tower five columns in front of the first Arrow Tower allows it to chip away at range. Place a few more towers to start killing approaching enemies.

When the enemy officer shows up, deploy Axel and melee units until all enemies are dead. Replace the towers when they fall. Axel, the Ice Tower, and the rest of your melee units can remove the remaining tower.

Use the skill chosen to clear away swarms. Fireball works slightly better than Blizzard due to significantly higher base damage, and the fact enemies are already slowed from Ice Towers.

Vergeway Chapter 2 Stage 2

  • Start with 35 Aether and 1500 Stronghold health
  • Objective: Defeat all Enemies
  • 141 Enemies to beat
  • Enemies encountered: Fire Tower, Bow Squad, Ballista Squad, Cavalry Squad, Darkhand
  • Card selection: Sword Squad, Ballista Squad, Axel, Fireball, Tally

Place Axel to tank tower hits and Ballista Squads away from him to remove the Fire Towers. Once more enemies approach, deploy Sword Squads and Tally. A Fireball or two can remove any swarming ranged units. Keep sending Sword Squads when needed to finish the level.

Vergeway Chapter 2 Stage 3

  • Start with 35 Aether and 1500 Stronghold health
  • Objective: Destroy all Towers
  • 14 Towers to destroy
  • Enemies encountered: Arrow Tower, Fire Tower, Bullseye Tower, Bow Squad, Totempest
  • Card selection: Arrow Tower (or Bullseye), Ballista Squad

Now, this is a somewhat advanced tactic.

Place one Arrow Tower just outside of its attack range. It will be used to kill approaching Bow Squad units. Start by placing a Ballista Squad at the top left corner. Deploy more Ballista Squads when they’re off cooldown, so they stack. Use the Ballista Squad stack to remove towers.

Once the Totempest starts shooting, place your Tower at the front to soak up the hits. Replenish Ballista Squads when needed (the Totempest will kill some). Replace the Tower as soon as it falls to prevent Ballistas from getting destroyed. Once you run out of Aether, you should have enough Ballistas left to win. Ideally, you only need two card slots to win.

Vergeway Chapter 2 Stage 4

  • Start with 35 Aether and 1500 Stronghold health
  • Objective: Defeat all Enemies
  • 114 Enemies to beat
  • Enemies encountered: Bullseye Tower, Ballista Squad, Cavalry Squad, Sword Squad, Incinerator
  • Card selection: Fire Tower, Bow Squad, Fireball, Blizzard, Billy

Start the level by placing Fire Towers close to your Stronghold, two or three columns away. Five towers should do. Watch closely at the enemy Stronghold to see when the Incinerator appears. Use Blizzard on the Incinerator whenever it’s off cooldown to slow her approach. Deploy Billy next to the towers to tank hits.

Once Incinerator reaches the Fire Towers, a Fireball blast and few tower shots should take her down. Once all units are dead, deploy Bow Squads to kill the enemy towers.

Vergeway Chapter 2 Stage 5

  • Start with 35 Aether and 1500 Stronghold health
  • Objective: Defeat all Enemies
  • 141 Enemies to beat
  • Enemies encountered: Bullseye Tower, Ballista Squad, Sword Squad, Hammer Squad, Bruiser
  • Card selection: Fire Tower, Ice Tower, Bow Squad, Blizzard, Tally

Place Fire Towers and Ice Towers closer to your Stronghold until you have five or six towers total. Blast the enemy officer with a Blizzard, then repeat this every 10 seconds to keep it slowed. Use a Bow Squad or two to supplement tower damage.

Once the officer approaches within tower range, bow squads will keep him busy. You can deploy Tally here if you have enough Aether left to kill it quicker. Use Tally or a Bow Squad to take out the remaining towers once the officer dies.

Vergeway Chapter 2 Stage 6

  • Start with 35 Aether and 1500 Stronghold health
  • Objective: Destroy Stronghold
  • 3000 Stronghold health to beat
  • Enemies encountered: Fire Tower, Bow Squad, Sword Squad, Hammer Squad, Codbone
  • Card selection: Arrow Tower, Ballista Squad, Bow Squad, Fireball

Place an Arrow Tower at the front to start tanking tower and unit hits. Deploy Bow and Ballista Squads to take out the first few towers and approaching units. Once you get more ground, place new Arrow Towers at the front to tank hits. Deploy more Bow and Ballista Squads when needed. Use the Fireball to clear out unit swarms.

Whenever a tower gets destroyed, place another one next to it to soak up aggro. When all towers and the officer is down, push with more Bow and Ballista Squads. Your fifth card can be Axel to make the final push slightly easier. Alternatively, keep the enemy busy with more towers.

Vergeway Chapter 2 Stage 7

  • Start with 35 Aether and 1500 Stronghold health
  • Objective: Destroy all Towers
  • 18 Towers to destroy
  • Enemies encountered: Arrow Tower, Fire Tower, Bullseye Tower, Hammer Squad, Animare
  • Card selection: Arrow Tower, Bow Squad, Ballista Squad

Place an Arrow Tower in the middle of your side of the field. Wait until it starts taking hits from the Animare to deploy Bow Squads. A few squads will destroy the approaching Hammers and the Animare. Place Ballista Squads outside of enemy tower range, then place another Arrow Tower on the front to tank hits. Deploy more Ballista Squads when needed.

Replace Towers once they are about to fall, and start creeping with more towers as you gain ground. Your last two card slots can be officers to provide more pushing power or a Fireball to kill approaching Hammers and chip away at towers.

I don’t think you need anything more than the three card slots I used, but feel free to test new combinations out.

Defeating this stage unlocks a sixth card slot.

Vergeway Chapter 2 Stage 8

  • Start with 35 Aether and 1500 Stronghold health
  • Objective: Destroy Stronghold
  • 3200 Stronghold health to beat
  • Enemies encountered: Bullseye Tower, Ballista Squad, Cavalry Squad, Hammer Squad, Steambot
  • Card selection: Arrow Tower, Bullseye Tower, Fire Tower, Bow Squad (or Fireball), Ballista Squad, Axel

Two Arrow Towers, two Bullseye Towers, and two Fire Towers should be enough to hold ground against approaching enemies until the Steambot dies. After that, start pushing with Axel and your ranged squads.

Put Arrow Towers in front to soak up the tower and ballista shots. You can use a Fireball instead of the Bow Squad to clear a group of ranged enemies, but I found the Bow Squads to be more useful at tanking hits and dealing damage. Ballista Squads and Axel should clear the enemy towers and destroy the Stronghold quickly.

Vergeway Chapter 2 Stage 9

  • Start with 35 Aether and 1500 Stronghold health
  • Objective: Destroy Stronghold
  • 3400 Stronghold health to beat
  • Enemies encountered: Fire Tower, Bow Squad, Cavalry Squad, Crossbow Squad, Golem
  • Card selection: Arrow Tower, Ballista Squad, Fireball, Axel, Tally, Billy

This one is very similar to the previous destroy the stronghold objectives.

A tower at the front will soak up tower shots and enemies, allowing you to place a Ballista Squad to clear the first tower line. Tally and Billy are premier officers and unit killers. Once the Golem shows up, block its way with a tower and let Billy and Tally kill it.

Use Fireballs to remove swarms of units coming your way. Make the final push with Axel, Tally, Billy, and Ballista Squads. Place a tower in Axel’s place when he dies to soak up more shots.

Vergeway Chapter 2 Stage 10

  • Start with 35 Aether and 1500 Stronghold health
  • Objective: Destroy Stronghold
  • 3600 Stronghold health to beat
  • Enemies encountered: Bullseye Tower, Bow Squad, Cavalry Squad, Crossbow Squad, Saberfang
  • Card selection: Arrow Tower, Fire Tower, Ballista Squad, Tally, Billy, Fireball

An Arrow Tower and two Fire Towers should be enough to defend until the officer arrives. Once the Saberfang moves onto your side of the field, deploy Tally and Billy to kill it while the Arrow Tower tanks hits.

After the Saberfang dies, start pushing by placing the Arrow Tower at the front and Ballista Squads behind it. Replace the Arrow Tower when needed and push further into enemy territory. You shouldn’t have a problem destroying the enemy Stronghold with officers and a few Ballista Squads.

Vergeway Chapter 2 Stage 11

  • Start with 35 Aether and 2000 Stronghold health
  • Objective: Destroy all Towers
  • 19 Towers to destroy
  • Enemies encountered: Fire Tower, Bullseye Tower, Ice Tower, Hammer Squad, Grim Wolf
  • Card selection: Arrow Tower, Fire Tower, Ballista Squad, Fireball, Tally, Billy

This one plays very similarly to the previous level.

Your first objective is to kill the officer. A single Arrow Tower and Fire Tower can tank it while Tally and Billy kill it (don’t deploy them until the officer is near).

After the officer dies, repeat the pushing strategy mentioned above.

A few Ballista Squads paired with your officers should clear towers effectively. Make sure to keep replenishing towers and Ballista Squads whenever possible. If played correctly, you shouldn’t need the Fireball, but it can be used to clear some enemies and chip away at towers.

Vergeway Chapter 2 Stage 12

  • Start with 35 Aether and 2000 Stronghold health
  • Objective: Defeat all Enemies
  • 139 Enemies to beat
  • Enemies encountered: Ice Tower, Cavalry Squad, Crossbow Squad, Frostwing
  • Card selection: Arrow Tower, Fire Tower, Ballista Squad, Blizzard, Tally, Billy

An Arrow Tower near the middle with four Fire Towers and another Arrow Tower in the back should hold the initial opposing force. Blizzard the Frostwing when it comes out and keep it slowed with another Blizzard later.

Place another frontline Arrow Tower to tank hits. It should be enough to kill it without damaging the backline towers. After all the units are destroyed, deploy a few Ballista Squads and Arrow Towers to push the remaining towers and clear the stage.

Vergeway Chapter 2 Stage 13

  • Start with 35 Aether and 2000 Stronghold health
  • Objective: Destroy the Stronghold
  • 4000 Stronghold health to beat
  • Enemies encountered: Bullseye Tower, Ice Tower, Bow Squad, Crossbow Squad, Watcher
  • Card selection: Arrow Tower, Ballista Squad, Tally, Billy

Immediately start pushing enemy towers with the Ballista + Arrow Tower combo similar to previous sieges. The enemy officer ignores everything and goes straight for your Stronghold. Deploy Tally and Billy when he approaches your side of the map to kill it. They shouldn’t have a problem killing it quickly. Proceed with a similar pushing strategy by advancing Arrow Towers and replenishing units when needed.

Vergeway Chapter 2 Stage 14

  • Start with 35 Aether and 2000 Stronghold health
  • Objective: Destroy all Towers
  • 18 Towers to destroy
  • Enemies encountered: Bullseye Tower, Ice Tower, Hammer Squad, Aquiris
  • Card selection: Arrow Tower, Ballista Squad

This stage plays almost exactly the same as the previous one. Start with an Arrow Tower in the center to tank shots and deploy Ballista Squads behind it to remove towers one by one. The enemy officer damages the tower first, but more Ballista Squads shouldn’t have a problem beating it.

My Ballistas were Level 3 at this point, and I was able to beat the level without anything else. You can use Tally and Billy to help out when needed.

Beating this stage unlocks the seventh card slot.

Vergeway Chapter 2 Stage 15

  • Start with 35 Aether and 2000 Stronghold health
  • Objective: Defeat all Enemies
  • 143 Enemies to beat
  • Enemies encountered: Bullseye Tower, Cavalry Squad, Crossbow Squad, Hammer Squad, Blackwing
  • Card selection: Arrow Tower, Bullseye Tower, Fire Tower, Sword Squad, Ballista Squad, Fireball, Blizzard

The secret to beating this level is putting a solid defensive next to your Stronghold. About six total towers between Bullseyes and Fire Towers should do.

Place an Arrow Tower in front of them, around four columns apart to keep the Blackwing busy while the towers kill it. Place another tower or two nearby when needed. After the officer dies, the rest of the level is pretty straightforward.

Defend until your towers kill all units, then destroy the remaining towers with the Ballista Squads (you don’t need a tower to tank shots for this). A Blizzard or Fireball can remove a swarm when required, and Sword Squads can be good dragon fodder.

This strategy should be enough to beat Chapter 2 and grant you another free Power Key.
