What is the Persona 5 Royal Release Date?

After having exclusivity on the Playstation 4, developer Atlus.Co finally made an announcement regarding a Persona 5 Royal release date to Xbox and Windows. He also stated that Persona 4 Golden and Persona 3 would be making their way as well.

Taking place in modern-day Tokyo Persona 5 Royal follows the Phantom Thieves Of Hearts as they steal away the dark hearts of corrupt adults using the power of their Personas.


The 3 Ports

During the Xbox and  Bethesda Showcase, Atlus announced the arrival of Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 5 Royal to the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. Previously all 3 ports of the Persona series were only made exclusive to certain PlayStation platforms and the PC. Persona 3 originally came out on the Playstation 2 but was ported to PlayStation Portable (PSP). On the Playstation 2 Persona, 4 was released. The game eventually made its way to the PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 3, and PC. It came as a remaster titled Persona 4 Golden. Persona 5 Royal is a remaster of Persona 5 which was only released on the Playstation 4

Release Dates

Although the announcement for the titles was made at the Xbox and Bethesda showcase, Atlus recently stated that Persona 3, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 5 Royal are also coming to PS5 and Steam. No announcement for a Nintendo Switch release was given. The only Persona title currently on the switch is Persona 5 Strikers. Striker is a crossover between Koei Tecmo’s Dynasty Warriors franchise and the Persona series.

Within the next 12 months, all 3 of the Persona titles will be making an appearance on consoles and PC. Persona 5 Royal will be the first to release on October 21, 2022. Persona 3 and Persona 4 Golden are listed to come sometime in 2023. It is also not confirmed if there will be different editions of the games made available. All titles will be made available on day 1 on Xbox Game Pass.
