For the 75th anniversary of Jackie Robinson’s debut in MLB, Nike is releasing a commemorative Dunk Low colourway in honour of the boundary-breaking baseball legends’ career.

Jackie Robinson was the first African American baseball player to play in the American major leagues during the 20th century, thus breaking down the colour barrier in the sport for future athletes.

Not only that, but Robinson was an immediate success on the field, and was even selected as Rookie of the Year followed by the league MVP two years later.

When Is The Nike Dunk Low Jackie Robinson Release Date?

After rumours the sneakers would arrive on 15 April, Nike SNKRS has now confirmed the “Jackie Robinson” Lows will launch on 19 July 2022.

That means there isn’t long left to wait to pick these Dunks. Make sure you act fast to secure your pair before they sell out though.

As Robinson lead the Dodgers to six league championships and a World Series victory, it’s no surprise these sneakers come dressed in the LA-based team’s colours.

On top of the slightly off-white and blue colour scheme, you’ll find several references to Robinson’s career including his number #42 on the heels.

You also get his famous quote ‘I’m not concerned with your liking or disliking me. All I ask is that you respect me as a human being’ printed across the blue overlays and insoles as a reference to his barrier-breaking career in baseball.

To round off the commemorative design, you get special edition tabs on the tongues which feature ’75 Years Breaking Barriers’ emblems to further honour Robinson’s achievements.

The sneakers then sit on top of white midsoles followed by black outsoles, while Nike branding can be seen across the insoles, heels, and the felt Swooshes along the lateral and medial sides.
