Wild Rift Legendary Queue

The Wild Rift Ranked system has undeniably been rather flawed. So many of the players complained about toxicity, afk players, and even ELO inflation. For those unaware of these issues, pretty much ranked has recently become an incredibly terrible environment. Literal 45% win rate players are perfectly capable of climbing into Grand Masters, thanks to the loss prevention system alongside broken LP gain system. This makes the addition of Wild Rift Legendary Queue much appreciated.

Here is a general overview. Check out the official Riot source for more details.

Legendary Queue Overview

There are four main points to this Wild Rift Legendary Queue. It’s solo queue only, treated separate from typical ranked games, available only to players above diamond, and it’s a point based system. So imagine something to the old League of Legends ranked system, alongside a mix of the newer League of Legends Champions Queue.

The Legendary Ranks are as follows:

  • Warrior IV-I
  • Commander IV-I
  • Guardian IV-I
  • Vanquisher IV-I
  • Immortal IV-I
  • Legend

The names are honestly a little similar to Mobile Legends, which is a little funny. But anyway, it’s a great new change that will hopefully make the ranked experience more enjoyable for the highest levels of players. It is still a little too early to tell how good it will be.

Another unique addition to this new Wild Rift New Ranked Mode is the addition of a global rank, for players who manage to get into Legend.

In Riot’s words,

“In addition to the new ranks, you will have a separate matchmaking rating (MMR) in Legendary queue. So the rank and MMR you have in the other queues will have no effect on your experience in the new one. Matchmaking will also be tuned to only include teammates at most one major rank tier away from you. We’ll keep a close eye on this and monitor the system as you climb the ranks!”

In Conclusion

Ranked changes are super important to help Wild Rift become more playable. The base game experience, as in the gameplay alongside mechanics, are honestly excellent. No other mobile MOBA comes close to the polished experience. But with other issues, such as toxicity, rage quitting, and general poor competitive integrity plaguing the game, these changes will hopefully drastically help improve the experience. The ranked changes are speculated to release starting the next ranked season.
