Two days after being postponed, #11 Wisconsin and host Nebraska will try it again as they are scheduled to meet at 5:00 p.m. ET Thursday in a Big Ten game at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln.

The game was originally scheduled for Tuesday but moved back two days because Nebraska had a COVID-19 outbreak.

Wisconsin (15-3/6-2 Big Ten/4-1 road) had its seven-game winning streak end with an 86-74 loss to Michigan State last Friday at home. Nebraska (6-13/0-8 Big Ten/6-7 home) hasn’t played since Jan. 17 when it fell 78-71 to visiting Indiana for its sixth straight loss and 11th in the last 12 games.

Wisconsin is favored in the game, which will be televised on the Big Ten Network.

Wisconsin is a 7.5-point favorite spread-wise and -320 on the moneyline, which gives the Badgers an implied win probability of 76.19%.

Wisconsin Betting Outlook

Wisconsin had a five-game winning streak against the spread until losing to Michigan State as a three-point favorite. The Badgers are 12-6 ATS this season, including 4-1 on the road.

Sophomore guard Johnny Davis and senior guard Brad Davison accounted for 47 of Wisconsin’s 74 points last Friday. Davis had 25 points to go with five rebounds and four assists while Davison made 8 of 12 shots from the field, including going 6 of 10 on three-point tries.

It was the second straight 20-point game and 11th of the season for Davis, whose 22.3 scoring average is second in the Big Ten and fifth nationally. He was just 3 of 13 on field goal attempts in first half, though, as Wisconsin fell behind 42-26.

Davis is also averaging 7.4 points and 2.7 assists a game.

Davison has averages of 15.4 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists. He has scored at least 20 points in two of the last three games and five times overall.

Wisconsin hopes to get junior forward Tyler Wahl back after he sat out against Michigan State with a right ankle injury. He is averaging 11.0 points and 5.7 rebounds this season, and those numbers rose to 15.3 and 6.6 during the Badgers’ seven-game win streak.

The Badgers missed Wahl’s rebounding and defense. Michigan State held a whopping 39-20 advantage on the boards and shot 52.7% (29 of 55) while making 6 of 12 (50.0%) from beyond the arc.

Sophomore forward Ben Carlson started for Wahl and scored six points in 23 minutes. Wisconsin’s bench was outscored 43-7.

Off to its best start since 2014-15, Wisconsin leads the nation in fewest turnovers per game with 8.3.

Nebraska Betting Outlook

Though Nebraska keeps losing game straight-up, it is 5-2 ATS in its last seven games. The Cornhuskers are 9-10 overall and 7-6 at home versus the number in 2021-22.

Freshman guard Bryce McGowens led the Cornhuskers against Indiana with 20 points and five rebounds. The consensus four-star recruit is averaging 15.7 points and 5.5 rebounds in his first college season and has five games of 20-plus points.

While Nebraska lost by just seven points, it never led and got no closer in the second half than 59-55 with 10:31 left. Indiana shot 54.0% (27 of 50) percent.

Senior guard Alonzo Verge Jr. added 19 points, four assists and four steals. He has season average of 13.4 points, 5.5 assists, 4.8 rebounds and 1.6 steals.

Verge leads the Big Ten in assists and ranks 20th nationally.

Junior guard Trey McGowens saw his first action since November and scored seven points in 21 minutes. The Pitt transfer and older brother of Bryce McGowens missed 15 games with a broken right foot.

Freshman guard C.J. Wilcher has given Nebraska a recent lift by averaging 9.3 points off the bench in the last six games.

Nebraska’s lone win since November came over Kennesaw State on Dec. 23.

Wisconsin vs Nebraska Prediction

Wisconsin has won six games in a row against Nebraska with the latest victory coming last Feb. 10, 61-48 in Lincoln. Davis scored a team-high 10 points for the Badgers.

Wisconsin will be atonement after a double-digit home loss and getting Wahl back in the lineup will provide a significant boost.

The Pick: Wisconsin -7.5 (-110)
