Xbox App May 2022 Update To Revamp Activity Feed With Stories for All Users Soon

Microsoft just announced a nifty new feature coming to the Xbox (Free) app on iOS and Android all regions soon by expanding a previously released feature to all users. The company previously updated the app with a brand new look, but removed some features. You still can’t do everything the prior app allowed you to do like buying games and redeeming codes, but it has slowly started adding other functionality back. Beginning today in Australia and coming to more countries soon, the Xbox App will let users create their own stories. These can include screenshots, achievements, game videos, and more with others being able to reply to your stories. Until this update, the stories feature was only available to official game accounts that used it to share news. The new stories feature will be open to you once it has rolled out in your region on the Xbox App. You will see your avatar with a + button in the stories channel as shown in the screenshots below. This channel shows content from the past 72 hours.

Until this feature has rolled out to all regions, you can grab the Xbox app here on the App Store for iOS. You can download it on Google Play for Android here. Over the last few months, it has been great seeing Microsoft add touch controls to so many games for Xbox streaming for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers who use the cloud part of the service, but I hope more effort goes into improving the Xbox App on iOS and Android. It still fees like a few steps behind the PlayStation App when the situation was the opposite a few years ago when the Xbox App was amazing. Hopefully this new stories feature is the start of many additions coming to the app this year. Do you use the Xbox or Xbox Game Pass apps often?
