Fnatic has signed Owen “smooya” Butterfield on a three-month trial, the organization announced today. The British AWPer stood in for Fnatic in the IEM Winter Europe open qualifier last weekend and helped them beat GamerLegion, K23, and Galaxy Racer. Smooya was under contract with Movistar Riders until this morning, so Fnatic got to sign him without paying a buyout. IGC announce legal proceedings against 9z over nonpayment of meyern buyout

According to Dexerto, 9z are currently facing legal action after the Immortals Gaming Club (IGC) ⁠— the parent company of MIBR ⁠— filed a complaint to the Superior Court of California, in which they allege that the Argentinian organization have failed to pay the transfer fee of Ignacio "⁠meyern⁠" Meyer. Documents indicate that a transfer fee of $35,000 was agreed to between the two organisations for meyern, which IGC claim has never been paid, in part or in full, despite 9z stating "numerous times that payment would be forthcoming." G2 Esports is in talks with other pro League of Legends teams to potentially offload the contracts of top laner Wunder, support Mikyx, and head coach Grabbz, sources familiar with those conversations told Dot Esports. Complexity and CS:GO coach Jamie “keita” Hall agreed to mutually part ways today after a two-year run with the organization and soon after an early exit from the IEM Cologne 2021 group stage.
