Despite initial plans to run as a hybrid online, on-site event, gamescom 2021 will now be held exclusively online.  The German Games Industry Association made this decision following “extensive discussions” with its gamescom partners and exhibitors. Alegre is the President and Chief Operating Officer at Activision Blizzard. Sledgehammer will be the developer and the game will have a campaign, co-op, and multiplayer. In the call, it was mentioned it would be integrated into the current Call of Duty system, so a Warzone partnership like in Cold War is likely. Hotdrop, a London-based marketing agency that works with gaming rights holders, tournament organizers, and teams, has appointed Perry Smith as its new chief operating officer. Smith has held esports-related positions at multiple companies over the years, most recently serving as business director of esports for Right Formula. He previously worked at Ginx TV, an esports content platform, as director of partnerships and before that held the position of esports business development manager at Multiplay.
