Welcome to Purgatory: Causing Mayhem in West of Dead, Available Today with Xbox Game Pass

Wow, a little over two years ago, three of us met at a pub to talk about this new game idea. Idea is actually an understatement. We had loads of ideas. Too many? For us, the main reason to go indie was to make stuff that we love, and we weren’t going to waste it. When we left behind the huge teams, enormous budgets and relative comfort to go Indie, the main reason (by a long way) was to have the chance to make something closer to our hearts. We

Huge Update Arrives for Level Creation Dungeon Crawler ‘Monolisk’

It was just over a year ago that we first caught wind of an upcoming game called Monolisk (Free) from developer Trickster Arts, which looked to fuse the action-focused adventuring of something like Bastion with the community-driven level creation aspects of something like Mario Maker. And heck, “Bastion meets Mario Maker" sure is a hell of a prospect on paper. We followed along with the game’s development over the next several months until Monolisk was finally released in mid-October. Unfortunately, that golden idea on paper didn’t quite translate as well

NBA 2K21 Confirmed For PS5 With Stunning Graphics And Dramatically Faster Load Times

NBA 2K21 is coming to PlayStation 5, Sony announced during the PS5 reveal event on Thursday. A trailer featuring New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson was shown, and it looked damn impressive. The video showcases "actual PS5 pre-alpha" footage, Sony said. We see Williamson dribbling the ball and dunking, and some close-up shots demonstrate some truly impressive graphics. Or at least very sweaty graphics. A follow-up video from 2K Sports demonstrates the dramatic improvement in load times for NBA 2K21 on next-gen consoles. The game loads in about a second,

And finally…here’s Sony’s PlayStation 5

Today’s PlayStation 5 event was all about the games — generally a good sign when your system is due out by the end of the year. But after more than an hour of real PS5 gameplay capture, Sony had one more important thing up its sleeve: the console. Announced back at CES in January, we’ve seen very little of the hardware thus far, beyond last month’s DualSense Controller review. [embedded content] Sony finally reviewed the PS5 tower in all its glory — and I’ve got to admit, the damn thing

Welcome back to This Week in Apps, the Extra Crunch series that recaps the latest OS news, the applications they support and the money that flows through it all. The app industry is as hot as ever, with a record 204 billion downloads and $120 billion in consumer spending in 2019. People are now spending three hours and 40 minutes per day using apps, rivaling TV. Apps aren’t just a way to pass idle hours — they’re a big business. In 2019, mobile-first companies had a combined $544 billion valuation, 6.5x higher than those without a mobile

‘If Found…’ Review – Hand Can Erase

TouchArcade Rating: Annapurna Interactive has consistently been releasing superb experiences on not just iOS but also other platforms over the years. When they announced that If Found… ($4.99) from Dreamfeel would now be published under them, I was intrigued. If Found… has been in the works for a few years now as an interactive visual novel with gorgeous visuals. It finally arrived last week on iOS and PC platforms and it is a perfect fit not only to iOS but also Annapurna Interactive’s portfolio for a variety of reasons. The
