ESL, BLAST announce changes to event schedule as part of “collaborative approach to future governance”

BLAST and ESL have announced that they have made some adjustments to the event schedule for the second half of the 2021 event calendar as part of a "unified approach to the governance of scheduling tournament dates, rulebook alignment and integrity policies." ESL One Cologne will be ESL's first in-person Counter-Strike tournament of 2021, the organisers announced on Thursday in a calendar update. The event will be played in a studio from July 6-18 and will no longer culminate in a playoff stage held at the LANXESS Arena. ESL's next two international competitions, DreamHack Masters Spring and IEM Summer, have been moved to an online-only format, "with the safety of the teams, crews and the esports community being paramount."
