Recapping 100Thieves’ time in CS:GO

Nadeshot’s organizations has confirmed its departure from the Counter-Strike scene after just a little more than a year with their current squad. Despite the promise, they never really lived up the expectations of a “championship-calier roster”, and once you factor in their disastrous first attempt at entering CS:GO, you wouldn’t exactly blame them for staying away from the game for the foreseeable future. It’s not just the performance of the ex-Renegades but the state of NA CS as a whole that may prove to be the real deterrent. The opening gambitThe

As the world still struggles with the coronavirus crisis, the Swedish TO has now announced that all live events until the end of the year will be moved online, affecting the DreamHack stops in Rotterdam, Hyderabad, Atlanta, Jönköping (Winter) and Madrid. “This has been a very different year

[Interview] Serral – 10 years of SC2 (& some BW)

With StarCraft II's 10th anniversary in mind, TL.net's Wax decided to catch-up with his favorite progamer Serral to talk about his beginnings as a twelve-year-old StarCraft II player, reminisce about the days when he was just a regular ol' Jaedong fan, and how he definitely wasn't crying after he won BlizzCon 2018.*This interview has been edited and condensed.Wax: How old were you when StarCraft 2 came out, and what were you doing around that time?Serral: I was probably around twelve years old? I think so, around 12. I was playing

To Be The Best Player

Growth, Talent, and TacticalFor most of us, TSM vs. Team Liquid was the first time we saw Edward “Tactical” Ra in action. Before the game, Tactical’s rise to the starting lineup seemed like just another bad omen for a struggling Team Liquid lineup. With Broxah’s visa coming through, the entire starting roster had finally reunited only to be torn apart by a random case of laryngitis that sidelined Doublelift. Far from a bad omen, Tactical’s debut was a spectacular stroke of luck. With Tactical, the team picked up two dominant

Where to open a game studio

With the game industry booming, more entrepreneurs are evaluating where to base their new startup or open a new office for their existing company. The U.S. government’s block on H1-B and L-1 visas will encourage American game startups to add an office abroad much sooner than they otherwise would have. But where? This spring, I surveyed a number of gaming-focused VCs about which cities are the best hubs for game studios targeting the Western games market. Several locales stood out as heavily recommended — which I’ve shared below — but

New Assassin’s Creed Valhalla trailer debuts at Inside Xbox

Check out a new trailer for Assassin's Creed Valhalla from the May 7, 2020 Inside Xbox livestream. At today’s Inside Xbox event, Ubisoft and Microsoft teamed up to show players a new trailer for the highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. It was described as a gameplay trailer but that’s a huge stretch. At best it was a showcase for in-game cinematics but calling it gameplay might be a bit much. [embedded content] That trailer doesn't really sell the moment-to-moment gameplay as much as I was hoping, but we did get

Prince of Persia Redemption leaked footage shows off gameplay of canceled game

A recently surfaced trailer for a canceled Prince of Persia Redemption game shows a lengthy look at what could have been a sequel to the 2008 reboot. Those rumors never culminated in anything of real substance, but recently fans discovered a look at what could have been. A gameplay video featuring a game called Prince of Persia Redemption has surfaced and shows off a wealth of

As our Rainbow Six Siege team begins preparations for their Six Invitational campaign in Montreal, we wish to announce a change to our roster.
