Niantic rolls back Pokémon Go’s Explorer Bonus system in New Zealand following the country entering lockdown
Niantic is rolling back the newly introduced Explorer Bonuses in New Zealand. New Zealand entered Alert Level Four, which restricts citizens from leaving their homes outside of essential personal movements, on Aug. 17, prompting the Pokémon Go developer to reinstate bonuses previously in place during the height of the pandemic. Niantic explained that these changes will take effect immediately and will remain in place until the country has moved out of Alert Level Four.
