Bringing Brazil to the Major: How 21 players fought their way to the biggest stage

The PGL Stockholm Major will have the most Brazilian representatives in Major history. At 21 players, this is 6 more than at StarLadder Berlin, the tournament which previously featured the most Brazilian players. When it comes to the top 16 stage, Stockholm has not yet passed the highest number of participants, but considering only half of those teams have been decided and we are already over halfway there, the odds are that this Major will see the most Brazilian attendees any way you slice it. But how did Brazil get

Video: Best memories from the first 15 CS:GO Majors

From Richard "shox" Papillon's incredible 1v3 clutch on Dust2 in 2013 to Nicolai "device" Reedtz's three-second, three-bullet sequence on Train in 2019, every CS:GO Major provided us unique moments that stand the test of time. Some were a result of individual skill, some were pulled off thanks to brilliant gamesense, and others required a bit of luck — but all of them resulted in much than just a round won. coldzera's jumping double at MLG Columbus remains one of the most iconic Major plays Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski's "Sneaky Beaky" play

All teams qualified for the Wild Rift Horizon Cup

The League of Legends: Wild Rift Horizon Cup will happen from Nov. 13 to 21 at the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Center. Ten teams from around the world will be competing for a share of the $500,000 prize pool.  Wild Rift is still in its regional open beta stage, but this hasn’t stopped Riot Games from launching an esports scene this year. The Horizon Cup will be the first global esports event for the MOBA game. Riot has said that a full-fledged esports scene will be introduced in 2022. The

AdreN won’t attend PGL Stockholm Major

AdreN will miss the PGL Stockholm Major, the 31-year-old announced on Instagram. Team Liquid’s manager, jokasteve, will fill in as the CS:GO team’s coach. “I will be sitting out the major due to the upcoming timing of my son’s birth,” adreN said. “Jokasteve will be taking over the reigns while I’m gone. First major in over two years AND with a crowd is going to be so hype, and I’m sad to be missing it, but I would never miss this moment.” AdreN was the coach of Liquid during the

MIBR signs JOTA

MIBR has expanded its CS:GO roster with the addition of former Bravos player Jhonatan “JOTA” Willian, the organization announced today. JOTA will be a part of the starting lineup since Marcelo “chelo” Cespedes is still recovering from a car accident he suffered in September. The team was using academy player Breno “brnz4n” Poletto to replace chelo, but he has to go back to Brazil to finish his last year of high school. The addition of JOTA sees him reunite with Adriano “WOOD7” Cerato and Matheus “Tuurtle” Anhaia, who were a

MIBR expand roster with JOTA

MIBR have announced the signing of Jhonatan "JOTA" Willian. The 23-year-old has joined the team to further expand the Brazilian roster following the additions of his former Bravos teammates Adriano "WOOD7" Cerato and Matheus "Tuurtle" Anhaia. JOTA had been a key player for Bravos and one of their best performers before the team disbanded earlier this month, averaging a 1.21 rating in 2021 and helping them become one of, if not the, best teams competing in South America as they clinched several titles on the local scene. Party Astronauts win ESEA Premier S38 over Extra Salt to qualify for ESL Pro League

After a full-length best-of-five grand final, Party Astronauts have defeated Extra Salt 3-2 (16-6 Inferno, 7-16 Overpass, 16-11 Ancient, 22-20 Nuke) to win ESEA Premier Season 38 North America, booking themselves a spot in ESL Pro League Season 15. The result breaks the 0-4 head-to-head record for Party Astronauts against Extra Salt, and adds to a disappointing string of results for the South African-North American combine, who missed out on a spot at the PGL Major Stockholm after they were eliminated from IEM Fall NA. It also marks Party Astronauts'

MAD Lions take down EG 2-0 to advance in BLAST Fall Showdown

MAD Lions continued their recent run of good form by beating Evil Geniuses 2-0 on Nuke and Dust2 to progress in the BLAST Fall Showdown. In the next round, the European mixture will take on G2 on Saturday at 18:30 . For Evil Geniuses, it will mean a step back to the drawing board as they continue the poor form that has plagued them this year. They are fortunate to be holding a Legends spot at the Major, meaning they will have plenty of practice time to try and rectify

00Nation benches HEN1 and LUCAS1

Twin brothers Henrique “HEN1” Teles and Lucas “LUCAS1” Teles are no longer a part of 00Nation’s active CS:GO roster, the organization announced today. The move comes shortly after the team lost all of their matches in the IEM Fall North America Regional Major Ranking (RMR) event, thus failing to qualify for the PGL Stockholm Major. The Brazilians were working with a six-man roster and didn’t use Alencar “trk” Rossato in the RMR due to Valve’s rules against the use of subs, which would cause the team to lose a percentage
