Piecing together the puzzle: How Kyno’s rapid rise led to Oxygen R6’s NAL surge

Before his first official round in the NAL, Leonardo “Kyno” Figueiredo questioned if he belonged in the premier North American Rainbow Six Siege league. After it was completed, however, he knew he could run with the big dogs.  A strong opening round would get any new player’s confidence up. But that has to be especially true for Kyno, who notched an ace during his first round against XSET in March. To start the round, Oxygen lost two players to XSET roamers. With the man count at three-vs-five, Kyno found his

Beastcoast adds b1ologic as IGL

Beastcoast is rounding out its five-man Rainbow Six Siege roster with former Oxygen IGL Khalil “b1ologic” Pleas, the organization announced today. Overall, beastcoast had a solid inaugural season in the NAL. They defeated the mighty TSM roster in their opening game of the season, had several overtime losses, but ultimately failed to capitalize on the momentum provided by their first game. Part of the solution appears to be b1ologic, who’s played for organizations like Oxygen, Reciprocity, and TSM in the past. [embedded content] B1o’s most recent team, Oxygen, was in

Disrupt brings Easilyy out of retirement for coaching position

Disrupt Gaming has brought in retired Rainbow Six Siege support player Kevin “Easilyy” Skokowski as a coach, the organization announced today. Easilyy will bring stability and a mind for the game to Disrupt. He recently played in the NAL for Susquehanna Soniqs but failed to crack the top four in either of the stages. Regardless of results, Easilyy was widely considered one of the game’s top supports and spent time with Rogue, 1nFamy, and Elevate before signing with Soniqs. He retired in late 2020 after being benched from Soniqs’ starting

Liquid defeat Empire, send last EU team home from SI 2021

The EU region’s days of dominating Rainbow Six Siege esports seem far behind them. North American team TSM defeated French title favorite BDS earlier today. And now, the Brazilian Team Liquid roster have defeated EU’s last hope, the all-Russian Team Empire. Team Empire started slow. They never really found their footing in the midst of a Liquid onslaught on Kafe Dostoevysky and repeated the mistake on Oregon. Despite appearing like they’d regained their 2019 form earlier in the group stage, Empire were outclassed on every single level of competition by

TSM activate on Chalet to take down BDS 2-1

It looked dicey for TSM on Coastline, but the North American team prevailed with a stellar performance on Chalet. TSM won the initial map, Oregon, by a 7-4 scoreline. On Coastline, it looked like BDS was beginning to roll. The French team took the map 7-1, and heading into Chalet, it was looking scary for TSM. TSM went on to pull off a stunning 5-1 defensive half on the normally attacker-sided Chalet, and pulverized BDS for the 7-1 victory. “I think anyone on our team can pop off,” said TSM

Parabellum take out G2 Esports, eliminating G2 from SI

The Canadians have done it–Parabellum, who qualified for the Rainbow Six Siege Six Invitational during the NA Qualifier, have taken out R6‘s most storied organization. This is G2’s first ever loss to a North American team in their entire history in R6. Parabellum blitzed G2 on Villa, rushing out to a quick 7-4 victory on the map. It got a bit dicey on Kafe Dostoyevsky, but Parabellum eventually pulled out a 7-5 victory largely thanks to the play of Xavier “Eskaa” Avoine and Zachary “Spiritz” Dionne. “When the Canadian division
