MADMONQ Raises $600K Seed Round

Czech esports supplement startup MADMONQ announced that it has raised a €500K EUR ($598K USD) seed financing round from investors, including poker player and esports professional Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier, Twitch streamer Lex Veldhuis; content creator Radek “sterakdary” Starý, Lukáš “lastgameblitz” Křítek, Vojta Roček, and AdRock Ventures.  MADMONQ revealed that it intends to use the funding “to raise awareness around the need to prioritize health in gaming, new product development, scaling the team, and paving the way for Series A round, planned for late 2021.”  The company, which was founded in 2017, reported that it has achieved seven-figure revenue in 2020 and has been

FrontSight Capital Fund invests $1m into Singaporean organisation RSG

FrontSight Capital Fund, an esports private equity fund managed by Singaporean firm Tembusu Partners, has announced an investment of $1m (∼£725,415) into Singaporean esports organisation RSG. The funding will be used to continue RSG’s investment in local talent cultivation, along with a new focus to establish brand-new training facilities for its teams. The organisation currently fields teams across a number of titles including Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, League of Legends: Wild Rift, and Street Fighter. North American esports organisation and competitive platform Generation Esports has announced it has closed its latest Series A funding round with a total of $10.8m (∼£7.83m) secured. French tech startup Unique Entertainment Expérience, which is doing business as Powder, announced that it has secured a $14M USD Series A financing round led by Paris-based venture capital firm Serena. Further investors include General Catalyst, Slow Ventures, Alven Capital, Banque publique d’investissement (Bpifrance) through its fund Digital Venture, Secocha Ventures, Turner Novak, and Kevin Hartz.  The startup, which was co-founded in 2018 by Stanislas Coppin (CEO), Barthélémy Kiss (Chief Growth Officer), Yannis Mangematin (Chief Content Officer), and Christian Navelot (CTO), revealed that it intends to use its Series A proceeds to “increase the pace at which we are building the video infrastructure of social gaming.”  This
