The first Stardew Valley Cup has wrapped up the competition, with Sandy’s Candies taking home the farming simulator’s top prize of $28,000. Overall, four teams—comprised of some of the most dedicated Stardew Valley players in the world and named after an NPC from the game—battled in the event on Sept. 4, with a total prize pool of $40,000 up for grabs. ConcernedApe isn’t actively working on Stardew Valley updates while developing new game

Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone, the creator behind the smash hit farming and life simulator game Stardew Valley, confirmed that the game may not receive any updates in the near future. The news came out of an interview with Zach “UnsurpassableZ” Hartman on Twitch following the end of the Stardew Valley Cup. Once the event concluded, ConcernedApe said he likely wouldn’t add in more romance options to Stardew Valley in the near future.
