Dota 2’s 7.30e patch nerfs Magnus and Tiny, decreases Rune stored duration for Bottles

With The International 10 in the rearview, it was only a matter of time until Valve hit us with the big post-TI update that would shape the game based on how the meta evolved before and during Dota 2’s biggest event.  Gameplay update 7.30e is just that, although outside of a few core changes, it appears that Valve just wanted to tweak a lot of little things and let the players do the work in shifting the meta again. And Valve is also adding Marci, the game’s newest hero. A

NoPing releases its Dota 2 roster, will reform for next DPC season

NoPing e-sports and its Dota 2 rosters have agreed to part ways ahead of the next Dota Pro Circuit season. In a statement, NoPing said it will be fielding a new roster for the next season, but the organization has no news to share at the moment.  This is the second top-level South American roster to split with its sponsor organization in order to pursue other opportunities, following Thunder Predator doing the same following The International 10.  “By decision of all players in the team, we will not continue with the

PSG.LGD’s Dota 2 roster remaining together, according to manager Pan Fei

The post-International shuffle has already begun, with players and organizations announcing changes that will go into effect when the 2022 Dota Pro Circuit kicks off the next season. It appears, however, that PSG.LGD is more than ready to run things back with its roster that came just one game short of lifting the Aegis of Champions.  That news comes from the team’s general manager Pan Fei, who shared a lengthy post with his thoughts about the season on his Weibo, confirming that the roster will remain together for at least

Balloon World Cup 2021 peaked at over 632K viewers on Twitch

The Balloon World Cup, hosted by popular streamer Ibai and pro soccer player Gerard Piqué, saw an explosion of viewership and attention for the informal balloon-centered sport. Team Spirit shock the world, beat PSG.LGD to win The International 10

From making it in by one game through regional qualifiers to a 0-4 start in the group stage, then going into one of the greatest lower bracket runs of all-time, Team Spirit held off PSG.LGD to cap off their Cinderella story by lifting the Aegis of Champions at Dota 2‘s The International 10.  Led by Miposhka, the only player on the team who has ever competed at a TI before, Spirit are the first CIS team to win The International since Na’Vi did it a decade ago at TI1. They

Team Spirit send Puppey and Team Secret home, reach The International 10 grand finals

There is only one series standing between Team Spirit and completing one of the most impressive runs in the history of Dota 2‘s The International after the CIS squad pulled off yet another upset and sent Team Secret home in the lower bracket finals at TI10.  The TI curse continues to loom over Puppey and his team, though it seems to have at least lessened. A third-place finish is Secret’s highest yet, improving on a fourth-place exit at TI9. However, even after showing how dominant they could be, largely controlling

Team Spirit eliminate Invictus Gaming to reach top 3 at The International 10

There is something to be said about a team outperforming expectations on the world’s biggest stage—but Team Spirit has taken all of those words, phrases, and potential comparisons already. They continue to rise, and now they sit among the top three teams at Dota 2‘s The International 10.  In a rematch of the first series played in the upper bracket of the main stage, Spirit didn’t just get revenge on Invictus Gaming for sending them into the lower bracket. They crushed them—at least in their execution throughout the series.  The

PSG.LGD complete two intense comebacks, defeat Team Secret to reach the grand finals at The International 10

PSG.LGD took down Team Secret 2-0 and secured their spot at the grand finals for Dota 2’s The International 10 today. When two juggernauts clash, the battlefield is supposed to turn into a spectacle. LGD, however, looked highly composed and played the fringes, which worked to their advantage in both games as they swept Team Secret in a 2-0 performance.  LGD played to their advantage and didn’t give the European team much in the way of openings to exploit, marking Secret’s first loss in the upper bracket of The International

Thunder Predator parts ways with its roster after The International 10

Following a disappointing end to their run at The International 10, Thunder Predator’s Dota 2 roster has left the organization and is looking for a new sponsor ahead of the 2022 Dota Pro Circuit, according to an announcement from today.  The team, captained by Joel “MoOz” Ozambela, performed extraordinary well during the regular season, finishing second and third in the South American regional league for seasons one and two respectively. They also finished in a tie for fifth at the ONE Esports Singapore Major, but failed to qualify for the

Vici Gaming headed home after getting swept by Invictus Gaming at The International 10

Vici Gaming will sit out of the rest of Dota 2‘s The International 10 after today’s 0-2 defeat to Invictus Gaming. VG came into TI10 as the third seed out of the Chinese region behind Major winners in Invictus Gaming and PSG.LGD. They put together a strong run, making it to the upper bracket out of groups and then bouncing back from a first-round loss to make a deep run in the lower bracket.  During that run, they beat Evil Geniuses and T1, but they just couldn’t overcome their regional
