Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl modder brings unfinished Garfield character and map into the game

Dataminers have found plenty to indicate new characters that could be coming to Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, or perhaps characters that were set to join the game’s cast before being scrapped. One of these characters, Garfield appears to have been the closest of all to join the roster, with incomplete character files found in the game’s data as well as an almost complete map. A modder called Maranara took it upon themselves to put these files back into the mix, so that they can be seen in-game. While the character might

New World Update 1.0.1 implements new AFK prevention, confirmation screen on World Queue, and bug fixes

A week after its launch, New World has received its first patch dubbed update 1.0.1. This update addresses some of the server issues plaguing the game, fixes a ton of bugs, and adds a handy feature to deter players from accidentally dropping out of the queue. The patch notes were shared on the official New World website as part of a post thanking players for their support since the game’s launch late last month. Some of the biggest changes include an upgrade to the AFK prevention system that will ensure

How to make money in New World

As you venture through Aeternum, you’re going to need to spend some coin at some point. Money or gold is important for crafting, purchasing items and real estate, selling items, and other purposes. Companies that own specific territories can adjust the tax rate, which can make spending money more or less convenient for players in the area. Along with these player-focused systems, money comes in handy for a ton of other things, be it upgrading your weapons or quickly purchasing some resources to help complete a town quest. Fortunately, there

Reflecting on a Year of Stories Told by Black Creators

Black Creator SpotlightA year of interviews with Black game developers. / Photo by DBLTAP2020 was a summer of rage. Three high-profile killings of Black people — Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd — led to a flood of protests demanding justice. I marched at some of those protests, but it was hard to escape the feeling of helplessness. We could chant for hours, some of us could get maced and arrested, and we could come back to do it all again. But the power to create real change lay

How to organize computer cables

When it comes to cable management, most people focus far too much on the cables inside the PC and not enough about the cables strewn about the outside. While having organized internal cable management can keep a PC looking sharp, nothing makes a PC look quite as sloppy as disorganized external cables.  Monitors, PSUs, keyboards, mice, headphones, speakers, and power strips all compound to create a ton of clutter after building a PC. Once those wires make a nuisance of themselves, it can look fairly intimidating to have to run

The top 10 players at Worlds 2021

Each year, hundreds of professional League of Legends players compete in a dozen leagues across the world. And since the game’s professional scene is splintered into these regional leagues, it makes it difficult for the best players from their respective regions to compete with each other on a consistent basis.  At the World Championship, though, the strongest players from each corner of the globe congregate, treating fans to memorable moments and “instant classic” games. Perhaps it’s the rarity of matches played between some of League’s biggest stars that makes Worlds

Riot reveals details around League’s next ADC, hints at new support and Void-based jungler in latest Champion Roadmap

It might feel like the past year has gone by quite quickly, but Riot Games is moving even quicker. The developers released a new Champion Roadmap today, unveiling more details about League of Legends’ next bottom lane marksman champion and giving out some hints for the next support and Void-based jungler headed our way next year. Using a ton of electricity puns along the way, lead champion producer Ryan “Reav3” Mireles talked about the next AD carry “who has been charging up and is rearing to finally get on the

Valfaris: Mecha Therion Interview – Enemies, Weapons, Progression, and More

Steel Mantis’ 2019 side-scrolling shooter Valfaris was an impressive game, and thanks to its metal world and its frantic action, it made quite an impression. Its upcoming sequel, interestingly enough, is making some changes. For starters, unlike its predecessor, Valfaris: Mecha Therion is going to be an auto-scrolling game, which can potentially ramp up the intensity of the combat quite a bit, while the promise of more of what made the first game such a solid shoot ’em up is also an enticing one. Hoping to learn more about the upcoming sequel, we
