Microsoft Seems To Be Working On Its Own ML-Powered Upscaling Solution Like Nvidia’s DLSS

Microsoft seems to be hiring for developing its own ML-powered upscaling solution for its next-gen games. A couple of job postings for Senior Software Engineer and Principal Software Engineer on Microsoft’s official website states that the Redmond-based giant is hiring key figures for developing a competitive solution to high-resolution upscaling such as the likes of Nvidia’s DLSS, AMD’s FSR, and the Unreal Engine’s TSR. It’s still not clear whether Microsoft aims to make the technology propreitary to its consoles or not. Assuming that Xbox’s DirectStorage technology is making its way

Last month, publisher Nacon confirmed that it would be holding a new Nacon Connect event on July 6, and with the show right around the corner, the company has dropped new details on what to expect from it in a recent tweet- and apparently, it’s going to be a pretty packed showcase. Nacon says tomorrow’s show is going to have thirteen new announcements for their upcoming games and accessories in total. Of those games, the ones that have been confirmed to be receiving new updates are GreedFall developer Spiders’ upcoming RPG Steelrising, the open

Sekai Project Presents Upcoming Visual Novels at Anime Expo: Re;lord 3, Qualia, & More

Today, during a panel at Anime Expo Lite, visual novel publisher Sekai Project introduced upcoming games within its lineup. First of all, we take a look at Slobbish Dragon Princess 2 by Whirlpool, which will be released “soon” on Steam. “It’s been a few weeks since Judgement Day — when dragons covered the world’s skies. Humankind has been trying to adapt to a new daily life. But far beyond the skies above, the situation in the sea of stars has grown intense. The dragons were split in half in their

Gears Developer The Coalition Will Show an Unreal Engine 5 Technical Demo at GDC

Gears of War developer The Coalition recently confirmed that they were shifting their development pipeline to Unreal Engine 5, and as they take some time to learn the ins and outs of the engine, it’s going to be a while before we see a new game from them. As masters of Unreal Engine 4 and what it enabled in Gears of War 4 and Gears 5, The Coalition has a lot to live up to with Unreal Engine 5– and we’re going to get a taste of that soon. It’s been confirmed that on

Low on Goodwill, Don’t Expect Dragon Age 4 or Mass Effect 4 Any Time Soon From BioWare

Surprising probably no one, BioWare announced today that they would not be showing anything related to Dragon Age 4 or the next Mass Effect at EA Play 2021. While normally developers and publishers wouldn’t want to go out of their way to reduce the hype for their event, in this case, the move to let some air out of the balloon and not set an impossible bar for themselves is wise. There’s nothing that EA and BioWare could possibly show that would come remotely close to being as exciting as

Tales of Arise, Final Fantasy 16 Top Famitsu Most Wanted Charts Again

Famitsu has released its weekly charts for the most highly anticipated upcoming games, as voted by their readers, with the top 10 showing rather predictable results. In first place is Tales of Arise, which has been close to the top of these charts for a long time now. Meanwhile, Final Fantasy 16 takes second place, trialing by less than 200 votes.  Much of the top 10 is dominated by Switch games. Other than the two aforementioned games, Samurai Warriors 5 for the PS4 is the only other non-Switch exclusive in the charts. Two Zelda games figure in

Today Microsoft presented Windows 11, and part of that presentation was about gaming. We get to hear from head of Game Creator Experience & Ecosystem Sarah Bond. Bond boasted “superior graphics” thanks to Auto HDR that automatically upgrades games’ color and lighting. Of course, you need an HDR display. The next pillar is “Amazing Speed” via Direct Storage, which also appeared first on Xbox Series X and S. Of course, Game Pass and its cloud gaming integration was part of the presentation, with a look at the many games included

Pokemon Leakers Ordered To Pay $150,000

Nintendo doesn’t play around with their IPs. This is something that you might be familiar with as we’ve seen Nintendo go after ROM hosting websites to killing off fan games. Nintendo will fight to protect their IPs and ensure that nothing is leaked out, created, or distributed without Nintendo’s official seal of approval. With that said, we’re seeing a new legal case order over an old Pokemon leak that is forcing two individuals to pay a hefty fine.  Pokemon Sword & Shield might be a pretty old Pokemon video game

So Who “Won” E3 2021?

E3 made a comeback this year following its absence in 2020, and it was clear right off the bat that it wasn’t going to be the even that you’d usually expect. We’re still in the midst of a pandemic, and plans for E3 came together later than they usually do every year. Where publishers and developers often begin preparations for the next E3 nearly a year in advance, this time, it was clear that things came together in a more haphazard way this year- which is understandable. After all, development
